Was originally thought to be coming this summer

The return of EA Sports' college football video game series now has a time of arrival: the summer of 2024. Daryl Holt, EA Sports' vice president and general manager, told ESPN in an interview the brand is going to launch EA Sports College Football at that time because of the enormous undertaking of creating the game from scratch.

People who are into it have been pretty much been playing it through Madden the last couple of years.

No clue what they could be trying to hash out

It's going to be Madden but with College schemes.

I hate the look Madden has. NCAA had a more enjoyable in game look and feel

My view has been that players look far too tall and have awkward movements in the latest madden games

NCAA and Madden always had different feels and styles. If they were just reskinning madden it would be out next year.

This game is sort of like a mirage in the desert that is the world with a college football video game. It was always there in the distance for these many years, then as we finally got closer to it, it moved back to the horizon again.

I agree.

This makes me think its moreso that they want to hit HOME RUNS with the miNUTE details. Like Bands/Fans/Intros/Stadiums etc...

That is alot more detailed than NFL stadiums. So thats my guess is that they are pouring alot into that.

As far as the gameplay and the setup that way, you cannot compare previous Maddens or NCAA's.

I am only comparing now vs now because NOW they have NCAA pretty much inside Madden, so it's been something they have been "having" but waiting to make its OWN again.

college offenses made this necessary

i loved building a new playbook and formation subs based on my roster that year. also a big 2 QB system guy

Thank you Northwestern. You didn’t contribute anything to college football anyway and managed to also ruin one of the greatest video game franchises in history

I'd pay twice that much for a new version. I still play 2k8 for an entire dynasty now and then and we're coming up on 15 years past its release.

Probably my favorite video game of all time if going by hours played.

Probably took another year so they can figure out how to add more micro-transactions to it

Me too. Some of the glitches are frustrating (missed layups, defensive goaltending called against offense, wayward inbound passes, etc) but the layout is terrific. They even have a selection show

Not going to complain about an EA game taking more time for development.

Funny thing with this game is 247 did a poll before the season of like 100 players (obviously small sample) on what the compensation they’d like to see to get in order to be a part of the game, and a lot of those guys didn’t really want much at all, they just wanted the game back. I think only one player they polled wanted over $1,000 or so.

Would link article but I’m on mobile

I think it’s because they weren’t able to gain enough data on all 132 fbs schools. Thats a tall order to perfect stadium, bands, logos, school brandings in such a short amount of time. They are building the framework to work off everyyear on the new releases.
