Based on the number of seasons played by QBs in the history of the NFL, top 30 would be pretty remarkable. Compared to what he's done in NOLA, I agree his SD career lacks a bit, but it was still really, really good.

Before 2004, there were less than 10 quarterbacks who had a better qb rating on a season. And yes, I would consider top 30 to be one of the best. 32 teams x14-16 games x decades of games

The problem here is that DeliveranceJed doesn't really understand what a "System QB" is.
To me, Dan Fouts is the classic example of a System Quarterback. If he hadn't been in the Air Coryell system, he'd probably have had a career similar to Steve Bartkowski, i.e., an "O.K." QB but without the gaudy number to put him in the Hall of Fame. And, Fouts had a ton more talent around him but didn't win a damn thing.
