So the biggest name he fought was a 39ish Larry Holmes. Can we agree Holmes was past his prime?

Already been addressed, you’re talking in circles.

I'm only going in circles because you're moving the goalposts

Hypocrisy as well. I’m not surprised at this point.

Foreman would've killed Prime Tyson. See Buster Douglas. That size and style gave him fits. Now move it up five more levels with George. Once George's straights get through, Mike is done

Prime Tyson against Prime Foreman (leaning prime Foreman)

Prime Dempsey vs Prime Marciano (could go either way)

These would be amazing.

They were in the same era, but I thought Lennox Lewis vs a motivated, in shape Riddick Bowe would have been epic. Two highly skilled, big men.

What hype???… no real boxing fan(people who watch more than the big fights) considers Tyson a great heavyweight…declared “no mas” against Golota(a tomato can)… lost against every premier fighter he ever faced.. he more of a culture icon than a great boxer

Tyson was a great heavyweight. He just happens to be the most overrated boxer of all time at the same time. Pretty much every casual thinks Tyson is one of the two best heavyweights ever. "I know this, everybody was afraid of Tyson." Got into a heated debate with a few guys saying something like that and that's why he is one of the best ever.

Boxing purist/people that actually know about boxing don't think that, but he is hyped up a ton.

definitely prime Tyson (86 - 89) vs prime Ali (nation of islam/malcolm x squad version)

Honestly this is one of mine too. Just so everybody would see that Ali would whoop his arse 9 times out of 10 and that Tyson isn't what they think he is.

People who think Tyson is in contention for GOAT heavyweight are like baseball fans who think Nolan Ryan is in contention for GOAT pitcher.

Prime (not old) Louis against Marciano.

Here’s an outlier but it would’ve been an interesting chess match of a fight: Holmes vs. Jersey Joe Walcott.

Prime Liston vs FOTC Frazier.

Shavers was a one punch guy. Reason why he never won big. Tyson takes him.

Still would be a really fun fight to see. And would qualify as a dream matchup.
