here is the rule on intentionally fouling. What I am not sure about it is if you could get away with it if you just do it to one player. It's pretty clear if you do multiple holds its going to be 15 yards and the time added bacl

Bills special teams coordinator should be fired. How did he not squib that kick with 13 seconds?
Head Coach makes that call. He tells STC what to do.

Honestly why not have all 11 of your defensive players be defensive backs. As others have said, no point in even rushing Mahomes because he has to get rid of it asap and doesn’t have time to survey the field.
I like my chances have 11 players in the secondary

The chiefs were going to faircatch any short kickoff or fall on a squib
All season they utilized a booming kick to the 5 and covering. They were excellent with it.

KC would have gotten the penalty yards and the time back on the clock, so that strategy would have been pointless.

You suck at NFL rules. You also suck at scalping Earth, Wind, and Fire tickets...

then you have to know they are going to Kelce most likely, take him out of the play
Guarding the boundaries when a seam route and timeout is the chiefs best play was quite the coaching blunder

Rushing 4 made sense. If they rush 2 he gets more room and the throws are easier
But he was having to rocket it out so quickly the rush didn’t have time to cause discomfort unless you go ultra risky with a blitz and some bump and run. He can run around all day and it’s to your advantage if you have all the receivers bracketed

Your take is at the 5 they are fair catching? All the better. Not how it’d happen but awesome. Let’s let them down it behind the 25 somewhere.

At most it takes 2 seconds, as there's no way they didn't tell every single person on the kickoff teams to fall on it and give themselves up. It's also dangerous, because that ball can go anywhere, even out of bounds and give them fantastic yardage.

You have to try a deep squib and any mishandled starts clock.
You need a deep, high kick that hits around the 10-15 if they dont field it. Give youR special team time (hopefully) to get down field on the coverage and corral them if they field it. Fair catch costs them field position. If they don't field it it's a live ball.
Of course, that may be asking a lot of your kicker.

They’ve done it all season with bass.
Was surprised not to see it. 3-4 seconds could’ve been the difference in an extra play

He does have one advantage

I would have done a long squib kick. Yes, maybe the player falls on it.
Or maybe he mishandles it, or maybe he thinks hey I can get a few more yards. Players don't always do what the play calls for, right?
As far as defense... the Bills defense was completely out of energy (and to be fair, so was the Chiefs). If they play a more pressing defense... might have been easier for a WR to run right past and take it to the house.
In a prevent you HAVE to keep all the players in front of you.
On the first play... they lined up to have the 40 on lock. Receiver still got to the 45.
On the second play, they should have had the Bills 40 on lock. But they lined up in some weird formation where the WR was able to get between a group closer to the LOS and a group further behind.
In both instances, you CANNOT allow a catch and run... and they did it... twice.
I have no issue with the defense play call on first play. On second play, I'd have had my deep guys closer to the 40. I don't think Mahomes was trying to rocket it toward the end zone... with still having time outs remaining.
Ultimately it was two busted coverages.

The Bills played it like KC needed a TD instead of a FG.
It was just plain dumb.
Ok, on the first play even though it was way too easy.
But, leaving Kelce with a guy 15+ yds off the line and playing outside leverage with no inside help was unbelievable. Hell in that situation the sidelines was actually your friend.
I just couldn't believe what I was seeing real time. Short of some freak TD, there was nothing the Bills could have done, short of what they did, to allow KC a chance.

Someone is going to take the fall; it'll likely be him. I feel so bad for Josh Allen. Dude is an absolute warrior who did everything he could possibly do.

That play was defended like kc had no timeouts. With limited time a seam route is the quickest path and somehow was left uncovered.
Let them run a 15 yard out all day. Never give them the seam.

But you can play man under with 2 additional safeties deep, so should be no chance you get beat deep, unless a guy makes a catch in double coverage.
By rushing 4, even in Man under, someone could have a shot to hit a seam if timed correctly.
By rushing 2, you also run the risk that simply no one is open and Mahomes sits around in the pocket, or just throws it away quickly. But on the last play to Kelce both of those things would take the FG out of the question, and KC would only be able to attempt a hail mary.
How come you are not a coach in the NFL? Must be hard on those that just can't get it done no matter what the situation is. Why are so many HCs being fired? It is hard to be a good one and get it done every time!

Bills should have dropped 11 on the first play
