Does the Bills' DC survive that 13 second drive that sent the game to OT?

I told my wife when kc had 13 secs. They should just tackle all of the receivers especially hill. Take the penalty. At worst make them heave a hail Mary. I mean it's not hard

I'm still pissed that they played prevent D with 13 seconds left like they were trying to keep them out of the end zone. They needed a FG you fricks. That first play they just gave Tyreke 25 yards for free.

Not a Bills fan, but I was pulling for them.

KC would have gotten the penalty yards and the time back on the clock, so that strategy would have been pointless.

Since when is time put back on the clock after a play with a penalty?

Just baffling. Other than a Tyreek Hill miracle touchdown, the only way they lose that game is if they give up 40 yards in 13 seconds. Yet they come out in a defensive formation that basically gave them two easy 20 yard plays

The tyreek TD the drive before mindfricked the bills. If that TD happened differently, I think the bills make the easy stop that last drive

But they had visions of Hill doing it again

They changed the rule after the Pats Giants second Super Bowl. Giants defense at the end started intentionally fouling to run the clock down. Now they will reset the clock in these scenarios.

Yea but you can play to not give up the long touchdown without gift-wrapping a team 20 yards in 5 seconds

I agree

Rushing 4 instead of 2 is what made no sense. Zero explanation for that

The kickoff out of the end zone started the whole debacle.

The chiefs were going to faircatch any short kickoff or fall on a squib

It could only have hurt the bills

Bills special teams coordinator should be fired. How did he not squib that kick with 13 seconds? A squib kick definitely takes off 5 seconds of clock, and likely only gives them 10 extra yards compared to a touchback

Huh?

It likely takes off 1 second and gives the chiefs 10-15 yards

Yep. KC is set up to eat up yards in those scenarios but this made no sense to me. When they have timeouts always run the Hill play where they dump it to him in the middle and let him chew up 30 yards in 6 seconds or whatever. Rushing 4 does nothing there

Yeah maybe. But it would have increased the odds of somebody mishandling the ball and starting the clock. Kicking through the end zone guaranteed the ball in Mahomes hands.

That was a terrible move too.

Also increases the chances a Chiefs player falls on the ball at the 40….

Romo was off base about the kick

Penalties can only take time away, they never add time back.
