At his peak he was over the top douchey and almost everything he did publicly was cringe worthy. I’m talking back when he was the best defensive player in the league.

He’s done a complete 180 from what I’ve seen. Since he’s been injured multiple times, settled down with a woman, and oddly enough done some PMT appearances he’s become way more likable and relatable. He’s admitted to how much of a douche he was in those early years and learned to make fun of himself. I really do credit PMT for helping him break through that part of it.

Doesn't he raise a ton of money for charities? I guess he can be a little obnoxious but it's not like he's beating women or children.

Seriously. There are so many worse guys in the league yet this guy gets hated because people claim he’s an attention whore.

If you want to seem less “douchey” it’s best to surround yourself with the king douchebags at Barstool.

Anyone who rigorously follows athletes on social media needs psychological help.

It’s a catch 22. He definitely played into the nice guy wholesome imagine too much and it came off as super fake.

He also was coming into the league when Twitter and Instagram were really taking off. He choose the safe path of being Mr. nice guy in the same way russel Wilson did. Not everyone can be marshawn lynch and have a real personality with a high approval rating.

Watt raised millions after Harvey. Went above and beyond. Any city would be lucky to have a athlete represent the city the way he did. So what it if comes with some cringe Instagram posts.

He usually pops up on my news feeds when he's lecturing some player on a different team in a different conference on how they should behave as a person.

So yeah, I'm not a big fan.

I know he's raised enough for charity to put Houston on the moon, but he's annoying.

He can be a little douchey but also is a pretty good human being it seems. Much worse role models out there

I used to think he was a ‘me’ guy.

Then his foundation donated new uniforms to the inner city school where I was coaching at the time.

Then his foundation did the same for several other nearby schools ravaged by Hurricane Harvey.

Then he actually took time to visit some of the kids.

Then he donated shitloads of money to the Harvey recovery effort throughout the Houston area.

So no...I am not annoyed by him. I think more athletes should be like him. Many talk about making a difference. He actually does it.

He annoys me as much as any pro football player who didn’t go to LSU or doesn’t play for the Saints

Can't stand the guy, he's an attention whore. He tries too hard to be Mr. Nice Guy but it always comes across as really fake. It's always "look at me" or "see what I did?" And I've seen a few of his posts on social media and they're insanely cringey

He's one of those people who is just unlikable but you can't say oh he's a piece of shite and I hate him. He's not a bad person but he's incredibly off-putting and you don't want to feel like an a-hole for disliking a decent person
