I'm sure the players prefer it.

Evidently it wasn't important the week before the SECCG given Auburn, with 2 losses, was ranked AHEAD of both 1 loss Georgia and Alabama in the CFP poll before the SEC championship game. Going into the conf. championship games this was the CFP ranking:

1. Clemson (11-1)
2. Auburn (10-2)
3. Oklahoma (11-1)
4. Wisconsin (12-0)
5. Alabama (11-1)
6. Georgia (11-1)

yes, stayed home meaning they were not in control of their destiny. Had Auburn won the game, you would have a top 4 of the major conference winners; Clemson/AU/OU/OSU.

It also meant Alabama had zero risk, unlike Auburn. The committee clearly felt at the end of the regular season Auburn should be in the CFP ahead of Alabama. That, despite the fact at that time Auburn had 2 losses to Alabama's 1. Without a Conf. championship game, Auburn is in the CFP.

The 12 team playoff is dumb as shite so again I have no arugments otherwise

Generally if you can't articulate an argument for your position you don't have much of an argument to begin with

Theres no glory in watching a team getting that loss that knocks them out of the championship game.

There are 10 games where a team gets a loss that knocks them out of the championship game, hell even more if you count the losses that knock teams out of playoff contention.

College football was more fun when every game mattered under the BCS system

This is a fallacy, every game mattered…until you lost. By the time that November rolled around you had basically only 8 relevant teams.

I preferred just having bowl games with conference tie-ins and then voting. The whole "bUt We nEEd a REal CHamp!" thing was just a ploy by ESPN to make money, and make money by televising some very bad, boring football. I say frick all that shite. BYU won a national championship? Boo hoo. Try again next year, Jackie.

Maybe this coming weekend will make up for the lackluster bowls that so often fill the pre-Christmas slots.?

It's exciting in its own right but unless the winner is one of the best 2 or 3 teams, it's not really a championship. Just a tournament win honestly.

Change how the teams are selected for the playoffs.

Yes it's much better and the ones that still whine about it are stuck in a different era where they convinced themselves the old way was somehow actually good.

I disagree with part of this but this highlighted is also true.

Actually this doesn't matter really as long as the top 3 get in which they always do and always will. The rest are lucky to be there and don't have really an argument for being national champion.

The playoffs isn't perfect, but I still easily prefer it over BCS.

I think 12 teams was too many. If they would have went to either 6 or 8, that would've been perfection, imo.

One caveat: the human polls must be removed from the BCS or whatever computer formula that winds up being used.

Some counter points to things I know will be said…..season end more interesting cause more teams in the race…..

It’s not. Who gives a frick about some 2-3 loss teams fighting for a double digit seed to get boat raced? The BCS was exponentially more fun than this shite.

college football has sold out.

It never really had a perfect system to begin with but now it's just clearly all about the dollars.

it just isn't as authentic anymore.
