Anyone who dislikes Doc Emrick should reevaluate their criteria

Hockey is harder, they have to sit way up to see the entire rink, then follow the puck and the line changes.

I like Doc, I also liked Gary Thorne on hockey, he's good there, too.

There are more people on here that will say they hate Fat Bastard than hockey fans that hate Doc. The way the dude calls a game is amazing - the difficult part of hockey is the constant substitutions that goes on, the puck can be cleared out of an offensive zone but by the time the team retrieves it and brings it back to the zone there can be as many as 8 or even 10 new players on the ice. Keeping up with those player subs and line changes is amazing in comparison to the NFL or NBA where substitutions happen during the 3424 breaks in the action.

Jagr knifes it over to Gretzky
Gretzky knifes it over to Kowalchuk
Kowalchuk knifes it over to Crosby
Crosby knifes it over to Messier
Messier knifes it over to Datsuk
Datsuk knifes it over to Fleury

cannot stand him. Give me Bob Cole or Dick Irvin any day for hockey. we went through all this last year.

Vin Scully for baseball. Plenty others for football like John Madden, Keith Jackson, Pat Summerall.

Why are you attacking me? We're Habs brethren.

And I've been a Habs fan since the 93 cup.

I just like Emrick's call. Does that make me less of a fan?

Sacre' Bleu!

American hockey coverage absolutely doesn't even compare with Canadian coverage.

No debate at all.

Nothing beats canadian coverage. NOTHING!

This is what puts him on the level with Vin. SVP had doc on a couple of months ago. He is basically a professor in the history of hockey. He is awesome.

My favorite broadcasters are all the old school guys. Doc Emrick, Vin Scully, and I love to listen to Hubie Brown call an NBA game.
