Do you like the strike zone outline and MPH on MLB broadcasts?

I don't. Watching College/MLB back-to-back convinced me.

College doesn’t because it would show you how bad college umps are.

The strike zone is crazy in MLB compared to college in the way balls and strikes are scrutinized. All has to do with statcast technology and how they track all movements on an MLB baseball field.

I understand why, but I agree with you that I also would prefer to watch without the box

Hell no. It's annoying and unnecessary. But all the networks today use all this useless crap in all the telecasts they think that viewers want. When in reality, they don't. I wish all the networks would drop all the excess graphics that are overkill and doesn't enhance the broadcasts. It's part of the reason why I don't enjoy watching games as much as I used to.

Absolutely hate it. I wish they would only use it when illustrating whether an important close pitch was technically in or out of the zone.

As one who only occasionally watches MLB, I like the strike zone outline.

It is impressive as hell how some pitchers can nibble on the outside of the zone, and equally impressive how good most umps are.

I like it all

Pitch velocity, box, type of pitch

Exit velocity and angle

Makes me appreciate how truly difficult the act of hurting a baseball is

I like the mph and pitch count in the scorebox, but I prefer broadcasts that don't have the strikezone outlined.

If they are not going to index the zone to each hitter then take it off the screen.

Yeah, I like it, also some broadcasts show the pitch type as well. The ChiSox broadcast does it.

I love the strike zone box. Crazy to me how anyone would not like that feature while watching a baseball game but to each it’s own

When batters have a beef, especially getting called out on something way out of the strike zone you certainly get the Players/Managers outrage.

I love MPH and pitch count. Both give you an idea of how well the batters are working the pitchers or vice versa. Even in scoreless games.

I hadn't really given it much thought. It doesn't bother me, so I guess I'm good with it. At the same time I wouldn't care if it went away either. Makes no difference to me.

Would have been unreal last night if they had the box for the lsu game

That ump was the worst I have seen in my life for both teams

I don’t mind it. Same as the yellow line in football essentially.

I didn’t like it at first. I thought it was distracting. But after a year of watching it and then watching college baseball I found myself missing it. Now I like it. Just took a while to get used to it.

id rather the box tech be
making the call.

since the box tech doesn't make the call its just aggravating.
I hate that umps are not only different but have attitudes.

And then you watch a game where the ump is Angel Hernandez.
