So did ours. Dude was a beast. He could block almost anybody and we were 5A.

Not at all, it might have made him weigh 10 more lbs after a year of working out though.

No it didn't, doing cycles of it while busting his arse in the weight room did.

He busted his arse just as hard the previous year but didn't have the results until he took it.

It's the most studied supplement there is. You can get a good amount just by eating red meat. The effects are probably negligible for an athlete in high school. Food-drol would be the best choice for putting on weight considering hormone levels in that age range.

NO

NO

Creatine can't help you shoot better, throw more accurately, or run faster. Being good at a particular sport has more to do with improving your skill set, and less to do with how strong you are.

He may have been on more than just Creatine but he sure got huge. We did have a player that went to LSU and it was pretty well known that he was using.

1. Yes
2. No, it wasn't against the rules, therefore not cheating

you do realize that lifting weights is a performance enhancer? running sprints, practicing, watching film all "enhance your performance" anyone have a problem with any of these?

guess my issue is with your wording, its a small thing but you shouldve said Performance Enhancing Drug

Yes and No.

Creatine was flowing through the 96-99 Broadmoor Baseball teams.

About all you really get is a little increased endurance and water retention so your muscles look bigger.

And in high school you dont need 300 pound mammouths at offensive line. Our starting tackle was 140 pounds and we made the playoffs in 5a

I'm sorry. I find it hard to believe you fielded a competitive 5A football team with 140lbs tackle. Where did you go? I'm guessing somewhere in northern United States.

Central high school here in Baton Rouge. I believe we were the 17th seed in the playoff but dont quote me on that. Only lost 1 game by more than a possession and that was the playoff game that we fumbled 2 KOs in a row to start the game off down 14-0 (banghead). We lost by less than a touchdown to St Pauls (this was Mickey Johnsons Senior year an they were a top 5-10 team in 5a)

We ran the triple option, if that clears anything up.

ETA that 140 pound tackle is currently my roommate and I played Center/Tackle at about 190.

that's crazy. Back in the late 90's a lot of central players would redshirt by repeating 8th grade at the private schools in the central area. They were a lot bigger than that then and were taking more than creatine

Fwiw.... Creatine is naturally occurring in red meat. 1# of beef contains around 2.5 grams of creatine

1. No

2. No. There wasn't any type of ban on it when I played. We had this one coach who would tease the players who used it though.

I took Ritalin for school though But I would avoid taking it at lunch time during football season. I knew how bad it gave me cotton mouth so I wasn't about to put up with that shite at practice.

I'm sure most wouldn't consider that medication a performance enhancer (for school it would be) but not for football IMO. But I keep reading about NFL players getting into some trouble with Adderall these days.
