Yeah the Pelicans are going nowhere so it's officially baseball season for me now.

Anyone else find it odd that national writers are referring to Musgrove as an ace?

quote:

The #Padres get another ace, the #Mets get starting depth and the #Pirates get more prospect depth in 3-way deal.

Stats the last 2 years:

2019: 170 IP, 4.44 ERA
2020: 39 IP, 3.86 ERA

Not quite what I’d consider as an ace

freudis nova

Pretty good vid in the link with Nova. Hopefully he has big things in his future as an Astro and chicken farmer apparently.

They wouldn't have made the playoffs in a normal year pops.

Well, the other side to that is in a normal season they would have had time to catch the teams they were chasing for the WC and Division. Would they have who knows...but judging by the playoffs this team could have strung together a nice second half of the season.

They never had JV or Yed either

Correa established himself as worthy of long term investment

BTW, I miss MLB so much rt now, I'm on a glass half full kick

I'll quickly return to the Dark Side when and if we don't re-sign Brantley

I like the two bullpen moves made so far and apparently we are still talking to Hand and others. The OF solutions will be telling though. I don’t expect us to spend a lot but hope we aren’t settling for non roster invite types

Would also like at least one vet rotation addition because I don’t think we can rely on the youngsters to shoulder a full season load. Doesn’t need to be anyone big and there should be a bunch of guys available a week before spring training starts

I was hoping we'd be in on Kirby Yates but it looks like he's headed to the Blue Jays. Saw a few tweets yesterday that we're looking at Coloma, Joakim Soria and still in on Hand. Radio silence on the OF side though.

Yeah get a good bull pen piece like Hand, get a veteran starter who can give some good innings with a little depth behind Greinke and the young guys, resign Brantley and get another OF, especially a good defender. I'll be pleased if we can get all that.

A regular through all the 100 loss season years in Left Center. Ryno and I took a pic with him in 2017 I think. I'm happy he got to witness a WS

He was out there all by himself in LF after Los Caballitos disbanded.
