No shite. Those one swing outs drive me crazy. The days of him hitting a HR off the first pitch seem to have passed.

Go back and watch Yulis RBI single, he hit it off the ground and drove in a run with 2 strikes. Unreal

I love and hate the duality of this sport. 5 homers in one game, no hit the next.

Every athlete learns lessons from sports:

Boxing - there's always someone better than you down the road.

Football will provide you with Glory, bruises, and the prom queen.

Basketball will humiliate you.

Golf will frustrate you like nothing in this world.

Baseball will humble you beyond anything else.

FIFY

If he continues the way he has been in this series and we win, he is very likely the MVP.

So as a somewhat newbie to this board... Can someone explain the history of the name "DAT"?

Don't feel bad. I asked this 2-3 years ago.

Only he is our only infielder who hasn't yet won a Gold Glove. Nominated and deserving, but there's always been someone flashier that got the award.

Damn this thread is poppin already. Nice win yesterday.

To Javier.

To the bullpen.

To our 5th inning hitting.

Hope JV got his game 1 problems out of the way and dominates today to get us up 3-2 and his first career World Series win.

I agree but I do think Nola was not as good as Smoltz was trying to make him out to be. Felt like the Astros were making really good contact all night. They were going to get a number on the board sooner or later.

I have not been in the DAT postseason threads much this year, but I have read them. Trying to sleep at night and watching games until 10:30 11 then being hyped is not a good approach

Years ago, like 2007, poster Reddman used to do a Daily Reds Thread. Frequently enough it was shorted to DRT and the board still knew. Daily Astros Thread basically started somewhere around 2008 as a spoof of Reddmans Reds thread title and it stuck.

Somewhere deep in the depths of cyberspace are Daily Rangers Threads from the early 2010s. Would love to go back and read the one from game 6 of the 2011 World Series.

Remember the daily rangers threads where it was just McCraigBro talking to himself?
