Welp, gonna need a miracle today.

This was the game we were always worried about, and it's coming at the absolute worst time with how the Red Sox are running the ball out of the yard.

If there is any silver lining our highest leverage guys and Javier are all pretty rested. Kudos to Taylor and Raley throwing up some 0's. So all leashes should be short with Graveman, Pressly, and Stanek all able to go multiple innings because they have to have this one.

Pivetta has a career ERA of 5.16, and ended his regular season with a 4.53 punching out 175 batters in 155 IP. Astros faced him back in June. He went 6 IP 2 ER and struck out 9. His last outing was 4 innings of relief against the Rays in game 3 where he was pretty electric.

Gotta have CK in the zone and hopefully inducing some weak contact early in counts. He's probably maxed out at 50 pitches or so, will be lucky to get three out of him. Offense has to get it rolling early, hopefully they are all done pouting and come out with a game plan and strike early. They have got to make the Red Sox play on their heels for once in this series, everything has been entirely to easy for them over the last 18 innings.

LFGRS!!!

It’s a nice crisp 42 degrees this morning and the sun is shining. Should be a beautiful fall evening for baseball.

That sounds absolutely lovely. Hopefully the air is thick and knocks down some of the Red Sox moon shots

This is just sad to watch. My AL West champ shirt came in yesterday and I couldn't go past the third inning. I want to have faith but I think Carlos' time in Houston is coming to an end here considering how that pitching staff is going to need a lot of help in the offseason.

Assuming it's one time through the order, really need CK to have a take-no-prisoners approach

Get the body bags ready

Changed the channel at 6-0. Sickening to watch an average to below average shove against this lineup.

It would be nice if we’d stop spotting them 9 runs a few innings into the game

The path is clear; it is the execution that I worry about.

-We need Greinke/Javier to give us some combination of 6 innings between them and get to Stanek/Graveman/Pressly with the lead.

-We need for the top 3 in the order to get their heads out of their asses.

-We probably need to start Castro over Maldy

All of this is very doable. But there are plenty of reasons for skepticism.

Baseball is a funny game--as hot as the Red Sox batters are, it can all change in one day if Greinke and Javier are on their game.

If Greinke can't get outs and we fall behind early again, this series is probably over.

I'd like for the Astros to accumulate more points than the Red Socks tonight.

I think this is ambitious. Yes we need it but Grienke probably can't go more than 40 pitches (2 innings or so) and Javier doesnt have control enough to keep his pitch count down to go 4 right now. I think 4 innings for Javier/Grienke is realistic with Maton/Stanek combining for another 3. Then Graveman/Pressly.

Yesterday I had predicted Urquidy would give us a good outing, and well, yall know the rest.

So today I will predict Greinke to do awful (since this is how that works. Let's just hope to shut the Red Sox up for once please.
