The Saints should clean house if Nix is the pick at that spot with the other needs Saints have especially on oline

Don’t worry we will probably reach to draft yet another injury-prone project lineman on either side of the ball

I like Bowers too, but I think you can find great TEs later in the draft. I'm in Jeremiah's camp in that I'm not drafting a TE top 10. Just last year, Detroit got LaPorta in round 2.

You can sometimes find them later, but your odds are a lot worse. There isn’t another TE prospect in this draft that appears to be in Bowers’ stratosphere.

Texas' Ja'Tavion Sanders, TCU Jared Wiley, PSU Theo Johnson, FSU Jaheim Bell, just to name a few. These are highly regarded players.

The Bears don’t need a QB, the entire roster needs to be improved. Wasting the #1 pick on a QB won’t fix the bears problem.

All of these guys are significantly less likely to be top level NFL players than Brock Bowers is.

LOL. Bo Nix?????

Maybe his thinking is that the Saints brass is really that incompetent.

Nix was a good college player but his NFL potential is almost non existent

Which will cause a bigger melt from LSU Saints fans: Drafting Bo Nix at 14 or taking this guy with their first round pick?

Most mocks have Turner going to the Falcons at 8.

That would cause melts anyway.

Laporta wasn't the greatest tight end in cfb history coming out either. Brock is.

Bo Nix will be polarizing, but what he did the last two years in a real offense is kind of undeniable.

The Auburn version of Nix was bleh, but he did have that 2020 game vs LSU that I still recall. He was amazing and that was one of the uniquely great QB'd games that LSU has faced in the last 10 seasons. Showed many different glimpses of his talents.

The Saints need to start throwing darts at QB. They had a chance last year and passed on Will Levis when he dropped. I watched Bo Nix a good bit this year. He is way better than what people are giving him credit for right now in this thread.

Yeah no this is just false. There are a bunch of people in the scouting/football community who are putting Caleb up there with the Luck’s, Mannings, TLaw’s of the world. Boomer Esiason said he’s a once in a decade prospect and he would rate him higher than Burrow and TLaw. Could he be wrong? Sure. But this guy has a ton of hype and higher rated than anyone who came out recently. He can do everything you want a franchise QB to do. I think Fields can still be a baller in the right system but the Bears would be insane to pass on him given the circumstances.

Does Oregon run an offense similar to that in the NFL? Serious question bc idk. It feels like we've seen countless examples of guys in a super fast paced wide open college game that thrive but don't do a thing in the pros

Yeah calling Oregon's offense a "real" offense is a bit of a stretch.

His ADOT was laughable. I believe he finished 193rd in QB ADOT this year (out of 200 qualifiers)

quote:

27.6% of Nix’s passing attempts were thrown behind the line of scrimmage with a completion rate of 95.5%. 39.4% of his passing attempts were between 0-9 yards downfield with a completion rate of 82.8%.

That's not a "real" offense.
