Astros would have been better off just not apologizing or just saying, "hey it happened, we were punished, I'm ready to prove everyone wrong next season

This is what Astros fans had been saying all along, that they should not apologize and all the fans from other teams attacked them for it.

As they have a right to attack them, but Astros players also didn't do anything in any sort of way as that type of apology either. From Crane saying one thing a couple weeks ago to his press conference the other day. To Bregman and Altuve not saying much at all. Quit waffling, admit since you were caught and focus on next year, now every followup question is about what they said/didn't say before.

You just said the Astros shouldn't have apologized then said Astros fans deserved all they got for saying the same thing you just said.

The media is not going to stop and move on, no matter what answers the players give. Everyone should just accept that and stop suggesting what they should say.

I was a little disappointed at first. The hate has grown to such ridiculous levels now that I’m fully embracing it.

TBH, I was hoping Altuve would just pull a Sammy Sosa and say “No habla ingles”

I said how I think they should have come out and said it, they didn't do that instead they gave those half dick apologies that did nothing. I also said they should not have OR just admitted to it, coming out like they did is worse than just owning it since now it just follows them everywhere

Which is exactly what Astros fans were saying.

My comment was never about what Astros fans were saying, it was about how Astros players did say it. Maybe there is confusion here because I'm not arguing against what Astros fans think should have happened, but what did happen.

Why apologize? These guys have been arrogant and lying about this pre discovery for awhile now. Why would anyone believe anything they say now regarding buzzers, regret etc? They fricked up and got caught, now I do believe they are really sorry that happened.

They are sorry they got caught. Verlander especially just wanted a ring and didn’t give a frick.

This thread has delivered.

Astros fans calling the Dodgers players whiners. Right, because if the shoe was on the other foot, Houston players and fans would be totally cool.

Someone saying Dan Patrick is well-known as the biggest douche in sports broadcasting?! No...just no...

The ‘apologies’ definitely made it worse. The Astros have no allies now. Nobody believes the championship was legit except for themselves.

So you think Astros fans actually care about that?

This Correa stuff is embarrassing. He’s trying to own it but in the next sentence he keeps making up excuses

They really shouldn’t let these guys that know English as a 2nd language speak this much. I used to really like Correa but Jesus this guy is dumb as a brick

Holy shite, what a spin. Exactly what I meant by saying that it doesn’t matter what the players say.

Him owning it was just fine to me.

But you can’t own it then try and make an excuse right after. Rosenthal embarrassed him with the direct questions he asked

“What we did was wrong.. but”

“It was really bad what we did, but...”

“Yea it was an advantage, but...”

“It was a bad look for our organization, but.,,”

Please at least pretend you are an adult living in the real world.

Oh bullshite. Correa is right to own what they did wrong and fully entitled to put a check on the amount of bullshite that's snowballed. We're about 2 steps away from "Astros did 9/11." Every time somebody lost a game it's because the Astros cheated.

A troll account claiming the Astros used buzzers as treated is scripture by the media.

Kurt Suzuki claims the Astros were cheating in the World Series by whistling to indicate signs. Whistling. At a fricking ballpark. Certainly something you never hear. It was clear and obvious where it came from
