Kind of hypocritical of the guy that took full advantage of it and helped make it what it is becoming.
Spoken like a true Saban protege. Once the others start pushing the limits like them, then the sport is being destroyed.

It’s only a small few who are complaining. Seriously, if there was a full on fan uprising we would know it. Outside of a few fan message boards and the usual propaganda out of the ACC, SEC, and BIG spring meetings no one is talking about this. And is because the vast majority of fanbases have no problem with FINALLY being able to cheat without having scholarships reduced or death penalties. The only ones complaining are the former power schools who suddenly have lost their main advantage.
Rolltide, you are a good poster and I know you truly believe in your heart things need to be fixed for the good of the sport but caring about the good of the sport is about 60 years too late. Your entire fandom has been built on payments. There is a reason 2 teams who were pretty dominant in decades prior - GT and Bama - took 2 completely different paths in the 70’s and beyond. And it wasn’t because GT suddenly didn’t have a recruiting base for black athletes or forgot how to coach.

If I were king:
Ban gambling. I hate it.
Hard cap on NIL.
Break off the top 50 teams into a new league and let mid majors have their own league.
Transfer rule. 1 free transfer then sit out a year. No more hardship extra years. Five years to play four.
No poaching of coaches in season. Harsh penalties for tampering including suspensions, playoff bans.
Change transfer portal and signing day until after playoffs. One portal only.

World is pretty freaking messed up right now, so I think the outrage for sports has been significantly limited. We have complete morons for leaders the past 20 years and the country is going into the shitter.
People simply don’t have the energy to fight the college sports bs from a priority standpoint.
I have seen plenty of die hards now say they don’t give a shite about their alumni. They support it but as a low priority in their lives.
It is nowhere near what it was because everyone knows the joke it has become.
