They completely rebuilt Lambeau except the original bowl structure itself, but literally everything else is brand new

They’ve renovated the Superdome 100 times

Georgia Dome

The Dome wasn't crappy, Arthur Blank wanted full control of his own stadium and the ability to host an MLS franchise.

I agree, but isn’t a NFL requirement for new stadiums?

No, the new 49ers stadium is open.

I think in a mild climate like California it’s fine if it’s open.

I don't get why you would do that anywhere in the south.

To have the ability to host other events year-round besides 10 NFL games.

As a season ticket holder, I can attest that stadium sucks. But my goodness the hotel tax is going to price a lot of people out of hotel stays. I bet there will $1,000+ nights in downtown on game weekends after construction is complete.

Domed stadiums get you other events like the Final Four.

Try sitting through a 2:30 game in Tiger Stadium in September or an afternoon day baseball game in Texas for 3.5 hrs.

Atlanta seems to work for SEC championship games as much as I hate to admit it. That could change once divisions are out. Imagine 2 teams like OU and Texas going to ATL for the championship game lol.

Are we really at the point where new stadiums don’t last 25 years anymore???

I guess so. I sat there (and froze) and watched LSU blow one to Notre Dame 8 or so years ago. The stadium was fine for the most part. It didn't have any frills, but no real issues either.

Well, yeah. It's NOLA.

Yea and if there’s one thing everyone knows about NOLA, it’s that we don’t host big events like CFB playoff games, national championships, NFL games, and super bowls.

They had an outdoor Super Bowl in New Jersey, but will require a dome to have one in Nashville?

SEC fans can’t afford to have their cars and pickup trucks broken into during the game

That is something I don't understand either. If Nissan was so bad, what idiot designed it? I've been to games there and it's a standard football stadium. Baseball's old stadiums are national treasures.
