No Detroit win the NFL in 1957. Legit.

Remove Washington

When they won titles...

Redskins - RFK
Caps - Chinatown
Nats - SE DC
Bullets - Landover which is 5 minutes to DC border or 15 to RFK...so not sure how that would not be included...as Sunrise and others are much further out

You didn’t specify in your original post therefore it counts.

With the Bulls triumphing in the Southern Professional Hockey League this year Birmingham just needs the G League basketball team to bring home a title to add to the stacks of championships our pro football teams and Barons have collected.

I believe you mean pre-Super Bowl

The Lions have an NFL title. 4 actually. I don't know why you wouldn't count them. All the other sports leagues still count their ancient championships, why is it a problem when the NFL does it? If St Louis is on the list for the Hawks NBA title in 1958 then the Lions can claim their NFL titles

Because the NFL wants you to believe pro football started with Super Bowl I…

Detroit has won 4 NFL titles. Including 3 in the 1950s.

The NFL as the NFL has existed since 1922 and was the American Professional Football Association (APFA) from 1920-1922.

The Lions have been in the NFL since 1930 and only ever been in the NFL. They won the title in a title game 4 times from 1935, 1952, 1953, 1957.

And I don't even like the Lion but I like being accurate.

Pre-SB NFL titles absolutely should count. Why wouldn't they?

IIRC, the St Louis Hawks won an NBA title in the 50s before the team moved to Atlanta. That was in the Bob Pettit days.

Yep. All four NBA Finals appearances came against Boston and were the only team to beat them during the Celtics' run in the 50's and 60's. History would look different had the Hawks kept Bill Russell.

No kidding. The NFL originated in 1966 based on that "logic".

Now things get tricky with AFL titles and especially with the AAFC.

MLB has done the same thing with the American Association, Federal League, and now the Negro League.

What’s crazy to me is that Boston has won at least one in every major sport in the last 15 years.

Being a Boston sports fan the last 25 years must be great.

13 total pro championships in 25 years.

Has won 16 titles over three sports. 6 for the Steelers, and 5 each for the Pirates and Pens. They have won titles in the same calendar year twice. (80- Steelers and Pirates & '09 Pens and Steelers)
