The NBA is a trash league. Just another example
It's nothing new, John Rocker got suspended for his comments more than 25 years ago. With Ivey the Pistons were probably fine with being done with him anyway.

On IG Live ranting about Steph Curry being a bad Christian while the plane is getting ready to takeoff. Normal stuff
To me that's more normal than all these black dudes at my gym yelling, rapping to their Playlist. I was next to one the other day and he was so loud I couldn't even hear my music.

MLB didn’t have double standards like the NBA has today.

Kyrie Irving believed in a flat Earth
Roethlisberger raped a chick, I think
Albert Belle ran a kid down in his truck
But they were really good, so they kept their job
Ivey, like Kaepernick before him, are just using their cause as a shield against termination
If either had the talent to overcome the bad PR, they would still be playing

The entire league is garbage, along with the wnba, and has been for quite sometime.
A league which has to tell adults how to dress....oh my

If tweet fails to load, click here. I think Adam Dekker’s comments are pretty accurate about the whole situation.
Turning this into a “Ivey is waived for anti-LGBTQ comments” thread is a little disingenuous to me.

You put these two things in the same category lol

exactly.
His contract was ending and the season ends in 2 weeks and he wasn't even playing. No reason for the team to keep him around just to answer questions about him the rest of the season when he isn't even gonna be there next year.
And they paid out his contract anyway so he lost nothing other than being able to rehab with the team

It’s obvious that he wasn’t waived for any single comment or just for having a certain view on an issue.
If there is anything to be upset about, it’s the bulls organization for not trying to do a little more in helping a guy that’s clearly going through some mental issues.
That’s a big if though

Whether it's a meltdown or not, dude is not in a good basketball space for for sure.
Instead of sugar coating what you said, how about you just (a) admit you were wrong, or (b) admit you completely over exaggerated your claim and the when called out about it, decided to crawfish?
Why are people like you the way you are? It’s okay to be wrong

Since that post Ivey has gone on a live stream and talked about contemplating suicide after breaking his leg. Sounds like a good headspace.

It definitely is. His mom is the head coach of Notre Dame and his head coach Billy Donovan is Catholic.
Ivey disparaged Catholicism as a false religion.

Just feels like a little bit of the boy who cried wolf to me.
There are real things that people can be upset about as believers. Jaden Ivey getting waived is not one of them.

Pinning it all on the final straw rather than the combined offenses leading up to it.
If he had no other issues before this he wouldnt have been waived.
Im still confused why waiving him and paying his full contract is a bad thing for the organization to do. It frees him up to get his mind right for free agency.

The NBA doesn't give a shite about being "woke", Ivey got waived because his comments hurt the bottom dollar. LGBTQ are legitimate market for the NBA's product, not to mention like 50% of the WNBA is gay

I really dont believe it was an NBA decision. It was a Bulls decision because it was gonna be a headache for them the rest of the season over a guy that was shut down for the season and is a free agent in the offseason. Why should they keep him on just to answer questions about him for the final 2 weeks of the season when he isnt gonna be there next year?

Kaepernick opted out of his last year of his 49ers contract to enter free agency forgoing 13 million dollars to test the waters

Colin was worried he would lose his starting position to a white dude, so he decided to play the race card all season. It was obviously a diversity shielding attempt. The more "black" I become, the more racist it looks to replace me with a white.
Colin was race neutral until a white guy came for his job.
