Somebody needs to stick a mic in Kyrie’s face and ask for his opinion on the same topic.

Right you proved my point. The word trinity isnt in scripture but the reality is there.

I never used the word Trinity. It was brought up by someone else when I referenced God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Ghost.

All three are referred to in the Bible and in the passage I place Jesus Christ spoke to all.

Jesus Christ in no way ever spoke of Catholicism, praying to Mary, praying to angels, Pope or any of the things gentiles from other traditions mixed in belief in Jesus Christ.

quote:

Where exactly does this happen, because we have writings from the first century from Ignatius and Clement that describe the structure of the church?

Where exactly is "Catholic St.Ignatius" mentioned in the Bible?

quote:

So by this point, it is unbiblical to ask anyone to pray for you?

You are creating a strawman.

I said very clearly here:

"When the Bible speaks of joining brethren, it only references the Church and those living."

So the Bible clearly states people can pray for and with you. The Bible even speaks of the elders interceding and even joining with ones neighbor

What the Bible did not state was to pray to dead people, angels, demons, etc.. to pray with, for or to intercede to the Father on you or anyone's behalf. That is not in the Bible and no where does the Bible support that. That is from Pagan origins.

quote:

Im glad you use the word living, because in Luke 20 all are alive to God. Therefor they can worship and pray.

You are misrepresenting the Word of God.

No where did Jesus pray to anyone dead person. No where did Jesus call on anyone but the Father.

The devil literally tried to tempt and bait Jesus to call on angels to save him and Jesus refused. He tried to get Jesus to worship and acknowledge someone who isn't God the Father and Jesus refused.

Kyrie has stayed quiet about Gaza so this definitely won't trip him up.

I’m not trying to win an argument here. It is clear that you fundamentally disagree with the foundations of the Catholic Church. We aren't going to find common ground because you don't believe in any form of apostolic tradition.

You should clarify how I am misusing the word of God. I am using reason to get to my point and a point that millions of people have believed for nearly 2000 years.

The story you are bringing up has absolutely nothing to do. I hope you are not insinuating that every time a Catholic asks Mary or another saint to pray for them that they are committing idolatry and worshiping someone other than God. If you are, you are fundamentally misunderstanding the beliefs of Catholics.

This entire thing started because you stated that you agreed with Ivey’s post that Catholics are going to hell.

Seems like this is the other side of the same coin Kaepernick is on. A player not good enough to be worth the headache.

It's not. Simply saying you are now religious is not a meltdown. Hell the comments linked in the OP aren't even a meltdown.

Even if I was a LGTBQ supporter, I don't see how those comments are even that offensive. He believes it's wrong. Not a big deal. He could easily have been cut over his play, but it's kind of ridiculous to cut him over that.

Yes and this is where we disagree because no where in the Bible or in anything Jesus taught did he tell us to pray to his mother. He never told us to pray to dead disciples. He never told us to pray to angels.

That is something from Pagan origins which was mixed into the message of Jesus Christ and the life he lived and example he gave us.

I keep pointing out that nowhere these things are found in the Bible and you and the others continually dodged this, attempted to bring in "Trinity" as if I used the terminology, etc.

This isn't an argument for me. The Bible is very clear on the example of Christ and the parameters of our belief and relationship with him through to the Father.

The others stuff you have mentioned had no place with Jesus Christ, the Bible.

Then you aren’t understanding our beliefs. You keep saying pray as a substitute for the word worship. That isn’t the case and is a fundamental misunderstanding. Worship is reserved for God and every Catholic believes that.

Where the disagreement comes in is that Catholic’s believe we can ask for intercession from those already in the presence of God the same way we can ask for our priest to pray for us.

Here we go again:

When the riots happened, Conservatives were using the work boots, job applications, racist shite, etc jokes, rants, etc Several got in trouble, lost their jobs, because Libtards contacted their employers. Libtards claimed there are consequences for your comments. Conservative hypocrites cried and said it wasn't fair, freedom of speech.

Charlie Kirk got killed and libatrds went on rants, made sick jokes, etc and conservatives targeted them and their jobs, Libatrds cried about it's not fair, freedom of speech. Conservatives claimed there are consequences, you have every right to say what you want, even hateful shite, but there are consequences(lol, look at how they flipped). They like libtards gleefully watched people lose careers, jobs, etc over the consequences.

Chicago Bulls basketball player, using his freedoms of speech went on a rant about lgbt people. He used his freedom of speech, and the Bulls also used their rights as an employer, and he got the consequences of his rants. Now same ones celebrating and whining, same ones whining are celebrating. Both of you dickjaws need to grow up, there aren't 2 sides, there is 1.

You have freedom to say anything you want, say bigoted, racists, mean, etc shite. But you also can face consequences for that speech.

Please stop crying, whining when they come for you, you know the theory of FAFO.

Your speech=consequences AMEN!

I’d also like someone to explain the viewpoint he expressed from Ivey that Catholics are going to hell. He dodged that one too despite parroting it which started this entire exchange.

1. Yeah his rants are somewhat bizarre.
2. If he hadn’t said the gay stuff they probably would have put him on some sort of medical leave for the rest of the season (since he seems unstable). But he mentioned a protected group so the mob came for him. Shame on Billy Donovan for bowing to the mob.
3. I’m agree with him that Curry is not consistent with promoting Christianity and pro choice.
4. I hope this guy gets the help he needs and is able to bounce back.
