I shop at H&M. This whole outfit cost me $6. It's Urban Outfitters and it's from the sale rack. This a Levis jacket and some Dickies with the legs cut off like I'm a skateboarder. I don't skate.

I'm telling you, the so-called crazies of the 00's are the most sane people of the 20's.

I can get behind a lot of this approach with the exception of flying Spirit. They are atrocious, and the saved money is not worth the hassle.

He lived at Paul Brown stadium for the first year of his career until Marvin Lewis kicked him out.

The fake jewelry thing makes great sense.

Personally, from a fashion standpoint jewelry doesn't appeal to me, but to each their own.

From a financial standpoint, it's phenomenally stupid. So good on Johnson for doing it differently.

He’s got some serious child support on the books…smart move to save up.

He always talked about his McDonald’s diet while playing. He went on to buy three locations.

Ocho Cinco always struck me more as they type to be putting on an act, and not actually cuckoo.

Made a shite ton of money doing it too.

I can't remember all of it, but wasn't it insane? Like big Macs 2-3 times a day and always with a large coke with no ice?

He made really good points. Basically saying that his brand is bigger than the luxury retail brands so why wear expensive clothes. Females already knew who he was so he didn't feel the need to be extra flashy

9 children with 6 different women
Multiple name changes, one of which was made to "reconnect with [his] former self"
Advertising for PETA for people to choose tattoos over animal fur ("ink not mink")
Alleged domestic violence

I don't think he's an average joe.

Do you really save that much money on flying Spirit. I looked up flights, and with the money you have to pay for checking every bag, it seems like you don't actually save that much.

Depends on how much you travel with. I've traveled super cheap on Spirit with just a "personal item" (carry-on) free of charge.

do these really put him outside of the average?

this is mostly the part I would consider an act.
each name change saw a spike in jersey sales and made him more famous than he'd be if he was just a great football player.

did you miss the part where I said he used this act to make money?

I’m not saying he isn’t entrepreneurial. I’m saying he is “off.”

I think he was asking in regards to professional athletes, not the average Joe. He may be above the mean, but he's not the max.

I think it's a lot like Shaq, Bradshaw, Barkley, etc. It was a character that they took on that made them a lot of money. Is there some truth to it? Sure. Do they exaggerate it to make it profitable for them? Absolutely.
