If they go 10-7 in a still loaded NFC North, yes

I agree, I am not a Caleb fan……but he is lightyears ahead of Fields. Just him over Fields makes this team better IMO

That sub 3% number does not represent a significant margin. I'd check the English language, baw.
When >80% of teams are within 45-55% opponent winning percentage, that much on the left tail is massive

Good attempt tho

I'm a Bears fan and I'm still not sold on Caleb. Just something about him that I don't trust.

What determines a large margin is the space between the top (or bottom) 2 teams.

He is definitely better than JJ McCarthy and maybe on par with Jordan Love but being a Bears fan you are conditioned to always think of the worst.

I agree, I never thought he was as good as the media made him out to be. He was crying in him mom’s lap with painted fingernails……it’s pretty difficult to be an alpha like that.

The biggest difference between him and Shedeur is that Caleb is VASTLY more physically gifted than Shedeur. If Ben Johnson can help Caleb grow in that regard……he may have something. Because the physical tools are definitely there

They are this year's version of last season's Vikings

Except this team will retain their QB and not go with another untested QB for the next season. I am assuming that you are a Packers fan with a deep hatred for the Bears and all things Illinois.

True but as Burden and Loveland are emerging they are getting better.

Theyre also a young team learning to win and to be closers.

Very bright future - next great coach

They could also lose all but the Cleveland game

As someone who lives in Chicago and watches every Bears game, he is light years ahead of 2025 Fields (I think he’s mentally done), but not light years ahead of 2022/2023 Fields. Caleb has an incredible offensive-minded head coach, and the Bears have invested a ton recently in offense, between trading for Thuney and Jonah Jackson, drafting Odunze, drafting Loveland, drafting Burden. Fields also got a rookie Darnell Wright, but Caleb gets a 2nd- and 3rd-year Wright as he emerges into a pretty good OT.

The Bears went from 7-10 with Fields in 2023 to 5-12 with Caleb in 2024, when both had to deal with Eberflus’s bullshite. Everything has been set up for Caleb to succeed now with the investment in offensive talent and Johnson hiring, and a lot of this success based on the turnover margin, point differential and bad schedule is pretty unsustainable.

Regardless, the Bears better win quickly in the next 2-3 years, because unfortunately they’re going to give an average-at-best QB an absolutely huge contract when his rookie deal expires and be pretty screwed.

I'd check the Patriot's schedule before saying something this incorrect

Wrong. Bears have played the easiest schedule. The browns would have a winning record if they played the Bears schedule.

Another person who struggles with what a significant margin is. It's like saying Mississippi or Louisiana are the least educated state, by a significant margin. Neither are, because they're both fricking awful and not really all that far apart.

Is drafting after #19 in the best interest of a mediocre team? It would be the definition of a false sense of security

Yes because I’ll trade a division title and a possible playoff run with a future stud quarterback to move up 10 spots in the draft

They’ve played the easiest schedule in the league (by a significant margin) and 6 of those 8 wins have been by one score. Negative point differential

Still 8-3

Their remaining schedule is going to be a big test. If they go 500 or better against that schedule I'll be impressed

Ben Johnson is an excellent coach. I feel bad for Detroit, with him leaving that effectively closed their championship window. He even came back one more year to try and make it happen.
