If Butler did all that, I'd expect his teammates to be more vocal in their support of the coaches and team rules.

But what do I know... Eugene Robinson tried to have sex with an undercover officer the night before the Super Bowl and still started.

Doubt the tweet is true, but it would not surprise me if it is true.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's a satire account.

I just said his name out loud and now I hate him.

Can't really argue with plenty sources, though.

Then why would Belichick lie about it not being discipline-related? That would be an easy out with the press.

Belichick and the Patriots are good at keeping things in house but even they wouldn't be able to cover up somebody missing the plane then getting drunk and high on the town twice.

Half the Raiders team was out until 4am in New Olreans the night before the Super Bowl against the Eagles - nobody cared.

Coaches had two rules, be on time and show up to the game. And give it everything you have on gameday.

They can stay out to 4AM, sleep by 5AM, get 8 hours of sleep, and still make it on time for all the important stuff before the game...

Once you do that you get labeled as a coach that will chuck players under the bus or not keep things in house. Also, his job is beyond safe so he doesn't have to defend himself to anyone.

I'm guessing he was only going to play if a CB or 2 went down with an injury.

A family friend who I trust, is well connected in law enforcement and was in Minny this week with local cops told me Butler missed curfew, got caught with weed when he came back late to hotel, and subsequently had a meltdown on coaches

It does seem like word would have circulated if this was true about Butler.

Regardless, many teams would welcome a corner of his abilities. Since Butler will be an unrestricted free agent, I am certain he will be playing for a different team next season.

If this was all true then why not just have him inactive? Something still not jiving on this deal.

Unfortunately there is almost no chance Butler winds up in Dallas. He wouldn’t be super cheap and will probably demand a multi-year guaranteed money deal.

Dallas stopped handing these types of contracts out to veterans like 2-3 years ago. Their thought process is that guys who are free agents looking for a second contract become content and lose their drive once they get paid, IE Brandon Carr. Chances were taken on Nolan Carroll and Stephen Paea this last year and both were cut due to not being owed guaranteed money.

They now prefer to draft guys and build a team around players whom want to repay the franchise with their performances for drafting them.

We had three rookie DB’s play significant snaps this year and we will probably take more in this draft.

It honestly shocks me that Dallas has moved to this model because we all know Jerry likes to splash to cash, but it may be an ingenious move by McClay and S. Jones for the future.

Will the SB antics hurt butler... Maybe, but he's still going to be a $10-mil-plus/yr corner in tbe open market.
