MJ might be the most insecure superstar ever.

He is protected by ESPN and Nike and still feels it necessary to challenge every player that has come after him.

He benefited from the NBA expanding rapidly and watering down the league yet still feels his teams are transcendent. Which they are not. The 2018 Warriors beat them 9 out of 10 times they play.

Well the warriors would beat every team, ever. They are safely the most talented roster ever assembled. so it is not a knock on mike for not being able to beat the warriors. Considering the bulls almost always had absolutely horrendous centers and point guards. no comparison between the warriors talent v the bulls. Warriors have 5 of the top 7 players in that matchup.

Mike
Kd/Steph
Pippen
Green
Thompson
Iggy
Next bulls player (grant mabye?)

The whole LeBron vs MJ thing is the dumbest media-created crap I've ever seen in sports. It exists thanks to the rise of things like stupid 2 person scream debate shows.

Jordan greenlit the doc on the day of the Cavs championship parade. Windhorst is far from the only person who thinks that might not be a coincidence.

MJ just continuing to assert his Alpha dog dominance over all who come at him.

Agreed that he and the Bulls benefitted greatly from a watered down league.

But his teams were transcendent. The 2018 Warriors probably beat them, but that’s the only team I think does. And the 2018 Warriors are an aberration - an already historically great team that was able to add a top 15 player in history, at his peak. It’s not really a slight to be beaten by that team as every team in history would

2014 Spurs would have beaten them too. They played basketball at a higher level than any team in history during the last three games of that Finals series.

And they also went 7 games in rd 1.

Heat had no rim defense. Spurs don’t look like that v a team with an even passable rim protector. bulls woulda wiped the floor with that spurs team.

They get overlooked, but they won 62 games and not a single player averaged even 30 minutes per game or even played 55% of the team minutes. That’s insane depth.

And their ball movement was poetry.

One of the major points of the whole doc series has been how MJ takes the smallest perceived slight and holds on to that - even now.

It’s not at all unreasonable to think that MJ cares about Lebron and his career relative to his

This. MJ literally stopped speaking to Charles Barkley because he said the MJ needs to stop surrounding himself with 'yes men' when it comes to running the Hornets. It's VERY plausible to think that's why he finally allowed the documentary to be made.

The Bulls didn't have rim protectors. Luc Longley wasn't exactly Rudy Gobert. Rodman never averaged more than 0.9 BPG.

The Bulls D was entirely predicated on perimeter and positioning. It's a big reason I think they'd have trouble stylistically with a team like the Warriors or the Rockets.

Rodman would have had Green out of that series in thirty seconds of the first game.

Green > Rodman

Green is the greatest role player in league history.

Especially in today’s game, Rodman’s impact would be muted.
