After this season they will need a new home.

Anyone up for the latest rendition of the Houston Aeros? Giving the Stars a real rival?

Their fans had to have seen this coming right?

People have been talking about them leaving for probably 10 years now

They won't leave, Bettman wants them there.

Kansas City has a really good shot from what I've heard if they do have to relocate.

Arizona without hockey would be like Maine without college football.

Yeah right, if it wasn't for the ESPN faithful, no one would of been at their games.

I still remember the Sports babe, she was the biggest Whaler fan, and loathed Chris Pronger, whaler fans expected a 19 year old kid, to be the best dman in the league.

You’re not breaking up with me, I’m breaking up with YOU!

-City of Glendale

Luckily for the Coyotes there is a brand new Hockey Arena with Suites about a mile from the new arena site in Tempe.

They’ll make more $ with 5k seats there than they’re making in Glendale.

Houston or maybe Austin/San Antonio would make the most sense if they were to leave Arizona.

Houston is way too large of a population center to not have an NHL franchise.

Maybe even try Atlanta again since the Thrashers initially had such bad ownership.

If hockey thrives in Nashville and Tampa it would definitely work in Houston and maybe Atlanta again.

I believe Atlanta has tried and failed twice when it comes to supporting an NHL franchise.

I’m skeptical it would happen but I’d love if they moved to Houston. With them not being an expansion franchise it could be a tougher road depending on how they’re set up for the future (I have no idea)

An NHL team that doesn’t win here will see attendance drop off pretty fast after the novelty wears off.

I have significant doubts on the viability of hockey in Houston

There's only a couple spots mentioned as possible suitors. Mostly Quebec City and Kansas City.

None are likely as they're expected to stay in AZ and Bettman wants them in AZ.

Doubtful, a lot of Canadian transplants live in Houston.

For sure and there’s a ton of transplants from the northeast and Midwest US as well. I don’t know if it’s enough to sustain though if the team sucks for a while
