jet lag from supersonic speeds

wtf does this mean? jet lag is due to your body adjustment from changing time zones, what does the speed have to do with it?

To clarify, the photo of the jet you posted is the Boom Overture which will carry the 50-60 people. It hasn't had its first flight yet.

A much smaller prototype has, XB-1.

I've been watching a lot of premier league and La Liga lately. The lack of commentary and commercials satisfies my need for professional sports.

Well They just broke the sound barrier. They are developing the plane to be able to travel supersonic over land and then ramp up speed over water. Pretty smart people working on this and they’ve got a ton of interest from airlines.

The NFL and NBA would be able to negotiate tax considerations with the UK / Germany for players and staff to make it feasible. This is a non issue.

It is a massive issue.

Unlike most countries American citizen have to pay US taxes on worldwide income, even if they live overseas. If they live outside the UK for 6 months of the year they still have to pay UK taxes on their UK sources income. They can write off their UK taxes from their US taxes.

It is a massive pain in the arse for high earners.

I’m in my 30s and every passing day I find myself caring less and less about pro sports. And now with NIL, college too. NHL, F1, and UFC are the way.

Its mild entertainment but its expanding to completely clownish levels. It serves no other purpose than as a money-sucking distraction. There even used to be a real community aspect to it, but I dont think thats the case anymore. Sports are more likely to cause gambling addictions than to cause you to meet a new friend.

I'm 67, I remember when the average salary for a baseball player in the late 60's was $100k and for an NFL player it was $25-30K.

The initial application will be private/biz jets. They will pay for speed.

With the rise in premium airline travel, there might be a small market for some airlines to offer supersonic routes. Of course in limited numbers though.

What about living in Europe and not having the same rights as you do in the US. Or your family, do you move them to Europe or leave them in the US?

I would be more worried about that then the $$$

What free agents are going to sign with a European franchise? Especially with the way Europe is determined to turn itself into a Muslim shite hole.

I'm genuinely curious what makes these sports different than the ones you've soured on because of the money. Hell, F1 drivers make more than most pro athletes in any sport.

Im curious as well.

NHL - a disorganized and chaotic mess just like the sport of basketball except its harder to follow as the puck is so small. I have no interest in watching human pinball.

F1 - an uneven playing field as everyone has different cars...less talented drivers can win because their car is simply faster. Waste of time

UFC - overrun with grapplers who just double leg you and lay on you for 5 rounds. Boxing is so much better with far more interesting competitors vs generic dagestani wrestlers with poor english

They didn’t break the sound barrier with an aircraft similar to the one being promised.

They were originally partnered with Rolls Royce on developing the engines, until Rolls Royce ended the partnership. So now this start-up company is trying to develop the engines from the ground up, without the participation of an established engine manufacturer, and the engines have to be capable of reliable and efficient supersonic travel, without excessive costs or maintenance demands.

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that they are going to be able to follow through with anything close to the promised aircraft.

It seems one path for them would be getting bought up by a larger company.

The engine setback also seems pretty big to overcome but if investment in the company keeps going and progress keeps moving they

The only thing seemingly working for them is that the engine design isn't going to be a ramjet or something crazy in the new plan. The Mach number might be lower though.
