How to say I am not following the code of martial arts without saying it.

It's crazy that he is as successful as he is yet is still so blatantly insecure about himself.

Someone needs to tell Jonah that actual fights aren't in controlled environments with rules etc. How many fights in public have you seen result in someone applying an arm bar etc? Not very many. I'm betting like most BJJ 'experts' his stand up is absolutely atrocious he probably hasn't ever or isn't used to getting punched in the face and I'm also betting he has a glass jaw as well. There are baws on here who would beat him to a pulp in an actual fight. I guarantee it.

I mean, I’m not here to stump for Jonah, as my earlier comments show, but a lot of what you posted isn’t really accurate. First of all, most fights in public are essentially luck of the draw with who can land a sloppy haymaker first. The vast majority of people can’t fight. 2nd, pretty much every solid BJJ gym is, or should be, incorporating wrestling and judo into the curriculum so the takedown thing you stated is overgeneralized. Lastly, who knows if he has a glass jaw or not but anyone can get clipped at any time, it’s why street fights are a terrible idea and are extremely dangerous with very little upside.

I watched the video and the dude has the tiniest hands. He's probably got the grip strength of a baby bird.

How many fist fights have you been in?
Throughout my teenage, high school and college years I can count on one hand how many times I’ve seen a street or bar fight go to the ground including one where the BBJ ‘expert’ took someone to the ground then proceeded to get the shite stomped out of him by the friends of the guy he was fighting since he was on the ground. BJJ is great for exercise or in controlled environments with rules etc. it’s absolutely horrible for ‘the streets’. Jonah Hill would get knocked the frick out by several baws on here before he could latch himself like an octopus on someone. He’s a 5’7 midget

I feel pretty confident he was being sarcastic. I get he does BJJ but I’ve seen other interviews and that’s just how he is, it’s simply an act. I don’t think he meant any of that

Someone with a few years in training in BJJ is going to easily handle the vast majority of men in a one on one fight l.

Exactly. There is no judge to jump in and break something up and there are no rules. If you get in a fight, you should never judge anyone. Go in like this is the most destructive person ever and you are fighting to survive. There are a lot of very useful things you can learn that will help you if you are ever in a situation and they don't teach them in a martial arts class.

Well, I did have to fight a guy that tried to carjack me while armed with a knife and I used a lot of BJJ to end up not dead. So there's that.

Right, and "brawlers" who stand up and fight never get jumped by a group ever. The same people that would kick you if you were on the ground with their buddy for some reason wouldn't sucker punch you from behind on the feet? Here's a newflash, there isn't a good fighting system that accounts for overwhelming numbers. This ain't John Wick bro.

It's great for one on one confrontations and it's extremely limited against a group but so is boxing and muay thai and everything else. There is no system that accounts for numbers and especially numbers that you don't see coming.

All of which is why trained people tend to avoid fights. Far too many thigns can go wrong and very few can go right. All I know is, when I had to fight to defend my life, I used BJJ principles and lived. Do with that what you will.

I've come to the conclusion that I figured out his end game in all this.

He's lost a lot of weight, training in a sport that requires agility and flexibility, so he's actually training to be able to suck his own------well, you know....

Most of these celebrities/people with money just go to these big name jiu jitsu guys for recognition. Jonah isn’t surviving against some younger adult at his rank or even in a competition in his age/weight category

Other than tom hardy and Mario Lopez who also compete in competitions through the ibjjf I’m not too aware of any other actors/celebrities that compete.
