Fair point, but Saban with a month to prepare is a beast. Michigan's also coming in with a beat up Oline. This is a bad matchup for them.

Teams with a month to prepare for Milroe is also a big deal.

Hmm. Sounds kinda like when all the experts said the Astros would never win another title after the scandal. Great call.

I think this is not the same old Bama team from 5 years ago. They are obviously talented, but you can do some stuff against their fronts that you could never do in the past.

They are the name but aren't as unstoppable as other years.

Corndogs love to ignore Bama beating Georgia the very next week, like it just never happened.

Bama needed a blown call on a 4th down incompletion to beat UGA with almost no healthy WRs/TEs worth a damn.

The reality is that this UGA team is a shell of the previous two, and because they made it through a horrid SEC East again, people are acting like Bama beat some juggernaut that was unstoppable.

Yes, they beat Ole Miss and Mizzou, but both those teams are only ranked high based on how bad the SEC is this season as a whole.

Its still a very good conference, but nowhere near as good as it has been in the past decade or two.

Again, remember that both Bama and UGA struggled against an Auburn team that was obliterated by New Mexico State at home.

They’ve been dealing with this for a while now. And won 2 of their 3 “difficult” games without Harbaugh and without whatever level of cheating they are accused of.

But NOW it’s too much and that’s why Alabama will beat them?

Alabama has come from almost losing the west to a super team in a month. Teams being fed rat poison.

When did Bama almost lose the west?

No doubt. I expect Michigan to have a few opportunities to make turnovers with schemes that might confuse Milroe.

But Alabama still has a bunch of room to do things on offense that they simply weren’t capable of doing earlier in the season. Take the big run to ice the game against Georgia. That was a look Alabama hadn’t shown ALL season.

And they’ve got plenty of that left in the tank.

Not matching these teams in a bowl game was a travesty

I wasn't impressed at all with Michigan against Iowa. They only had 210 yards of total offense and the score looked much worse than the actual game. Flip two plays and Iowa probably wins that game. I know that is a big if and Michigan is obviously better than Iowa, but again I came away thinking Michigan is going to get killed in the playoffs.

To be fair, one of the coaches in the OP mentioned their schedule being backloaded, which is likely the real reason they haven't been "the same".

Funny how that works when you only start playing good defenses in mid-November.

Yeah, pushing Georgia around all day on both lines of scrimmage wasn't the reason Bama was ahead by two scores pretty much the entire game. It was some "blown" 4th down call that the receiver definitely did not get two hands underneath and control the whole way.

Damn, LSU fans are still taking this really hard. I thought the reasonable ones capable of actual sports discussion populated the More Sports board for the most part, but I guess that was wishful thinking.

The barn could do something against BAMA that Georgia could not. Run the ball. Scheme matters and mismatches at the LOS is problematic for every defense going against these spread teams.

Michigan ain't the barners in the offensive scheme. They do look a lot like Georgia. Tight ends are all over the place, play action, and lining up and running downhill. That is allowing BAMA to run base packages with heavy personnel. You don't want that BAMA defense in your face. Ask Georgia.

I'm ashamed of how dumb my fellow LSU alumni and fans get when it comes to Bama.

Yall manhandled UGA and will Mich as well.

Michigan is and was better, but that score is misleading AF.

Michigan's longest drive of the game was 52 yards and it took them 13 plays and a fourth down conversion.

Their longest play of the game was 17 yards.

Their two TD drives started at Iowa's 5 and 6 yard lines, of which the second one probably shouldn't have happened because of the weird continuous play that resulted in Michigan getting the fumble.

Alabama is going to rip Michigan apart.

Alabama had 114 yards on 41 carries, 30 of which coming on a Milroe option. Milroe threw for 190 yards.

Alabama did not "push around Georgia" on the offensive side of the ball at all.
