Like i said, depends on your definition of athleticism. I always considered it the combination of strength, explosiveness, and speed. Basketball has freak athletes bc they have the athletic traits but also the height. I always considered the most athletic position in sports to be a NFL RB bc those dudes typically have all of the traits mentioned above. Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson are the greatest pure athletes in my mind.

Its all height, both sports are dominated by huge people. But James would be a freakishly tall football player. He was officially measured at 6'8.5 last offseason. That is over 2 inches taller than Jimmy Graham (6'6.25). I'm sure a ton of people will say that doesn't matter or would help James. But there aren't a lot of examples to point to that backs that up..

Cam and it’s not close. This notion that basketball players are better athletes is so stupid. How many 4.3 basketball players have their been in history maybe 2? Football players are so much faster, so much quicker and so much more powerful the comparison is a joke. Basketball players are more unique for their size but they’re not better athletes.

LeBron isn’t in the same stratosphere in terms of toughness. One couldn’t play football, and one couldn’t play basketball. I would say LeBron has been a better basketball player than Cam a football player, but one sport requires a lot more when it comes to physicality.

Least favorite players from their sports. That said, one is taller, faster, and maybe even stronger. That guy is also a bitch. Gimme the football guy...

71% of the earth's surface is water. Gonna need to have them race 5k, open water.

Not necessarily, guys like Javale McGee and Tony Allen types aren’t more skilled than a DeAndre Hopkins, Lamar Jackson or Aaron Rogers so that’s kind of a case by case comparison.

Disagree. Basketball players are the extremely rare combo of size, athleticism, and skill.

In general basketball players are more skilled. QBs, WRs, and RBs need to have great hand eye coordination but several position don’t require any.

I’d go case by case on the comparison because I’ve know Olineman who gained a lot of weight to play football but were outstanding basketball players in high school.

Look there are several examples of players not playing football until late in HS or even college who end up playing in the NFL. The opposite can’t be said.

Do you have data to support that theory? A lot of basketball players started late like Tim Duncan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Dirk Nowitzki, Joel Embiid, Steve Francis, Amare Stoudamire, Ben Wallace, Mutombo, Dennis Rodman and Vince Carter all started very late off the top of my head.

Carter is another one who I think could have been a good football player.

The vertical jump is the only athletic measurable which the NBA has an advantage over the NFL but that advantage is a lot smaller than people believe.

The top 10 all-time best verticals in the NBA are between 44 and 48 inches with only 2 above 46 inches (both unofficial by today’s standards). The top 10 All-time in the NFL are between 43.5 and 45.5 inches with 5 players at or above 45 inches.

This is a measurable fact based argument and the facts are simply not on your side.
