Someone like Durant wouldn't last one half of an NFL game, for example.

nobody claims Durant is a top notch athlete. his skills (at his size) are what makes him an all time player

I do, because he's one of the few NBA players who has the build for it. Someone like Durant wouldn't last one half of an NFL game, for example. I've thought for awhile that LeBron and Westbrook could have played either at an elite level.

Ok but I would also say that Lebron would probably need to put on 40 or so pounds to be an effective TE or DE. I think he would get pushed around quite easily at his current weight.

You trying to say basketball is anywhere close to football when it comes to violence and physicality? No freaking way. The hardest "hit" LeBron has taken in a basketball game is a light "thud" in football.

You think Lebron at 6’9 250 would push around someone like Cam Jordan at 6’5” 290?

I agree with this.

I sat 3 rows away from the court a few years back at an NBA game and when you see up close just how god damn big these humans are and the things they do at their size, it really gives you a better appreciation for their athleticism. IMO NBA players are the best athletes on earth factoring in their size, skills, coordination, and the constant moving basketball requires.

Of course there’s some freaks in the NFL too but there’s way more football players that aren’t in the same universe athletically as even your lower tier NBA players

It's not that they don't have it. It's that they're not required to have it.

Tony Gonzales is probably a top 3 TE in the history of the NFL. He was so good as both a run blocker and a receiver that he might be considered the greatest dual threat TE in history.

Antonio Gates was an all pro TE and didn't even play football in college. Let that sink in for a minute.

Lebron is the better athlete

NBA is much tougher to play. Have to be able to run for minutes at a time. Cam gets winded running 15 yards.

Lebron is 6'9 250lbs. I find it hard to believe that he would be pushed around easily.

Yeah, it pretty much is. The question was about who would make a better NFL TE and Cam is an NFLer and we've seen him take the physical hits and get back up. We don't know that about LeBron, not on that type of stage. My point is fear and intimidation can negate athleticism.

Let's also add, he's built for basketball, had he played football, he would of juiced, but worked to get even bigger for football.

I think Football players tend to be faster where basketball rewards being tall and having a good vertical.

Which makes sense because football is played in a much bigger space.

But there are some NBA players that you just can’t match their size/power/speed/agility ratio.

Zion and Lebron are freaks.

The debate on Lebatard was that Lebron would be an all pro TE if he played football.
