You never know. But he will be an age-40-something superstar, like Barry if he does.

Eh i would bet judge has taken and still takes PED's
Posted on 4/9/25 at 9:55 am to West Palm Tiger561
Dude had 4 straight years of over .500 OBP. He was intentionally walked 120 times in a season. There will never be another prime like that.
Of course he's a cheating PoS and a huge douche. 755 is real

comparison between Bonds from 1987-2000 and Lou Gehrig's career numbers. They're remarkably similar.
No. No they are not. I just did a comparison and Gehrig is 16% higher than Bonds on every efficiency metric across the board (example: Bonds had a .290 average and Gehrig a .340, same holds for OPS, slugging, and OBP).
Now factoring in his roid years, yes.
To put it in comparison here is Judge’s numbers, from last season, increased by 16%
Adjusted BA: .322 × 1.16 = .373
Adjusted OBP: .458 × 1.16 = .531
Adjusted SLG: .701 × 1.16 = .813
Adjusted OPS: 1.159 × 1.16 = 1.345
No one with the stats on the right would have “remarkably similar” stats to Judge today.

His HR average his first 10 seasons was 29.2 HRs, his average before he hit 49 was 31.8 and through the year before he hit 73 was 32.9. In no world is 33 almost 40. So yes, his HR average jumped dramatically after taking steroids, by at least 25%.
1998 is the consensus. From 1993-1997 he was averaging 40 homeruns. I'm not going to include his first several seasons because he wasn't in his prime years yet. So yeah, there was not a big jump in homeruns after steroid use.

It's not that interesting but a very misleading statement nonetheless
When he was juiced to the gills from 2000-2004, his average per 162 were
.339/.535/.781
1.316 OPS
58 HRs
123 RBIs
197 BBs
During his pre-roid prime from 1992-1999, those numbers were:
.303/.441/.618
1.059 OPS
43 HRs
121 RBIs
136 BBs
His 2001 season highly inflates that average though. Obviously there is a difference, but his one anomaly of season changes those numbers drastically.

Bruh ~30 home run jump to 73 is a BIG jump

THE JUDGE has hit 50+ dongs three times and he didn’t even need steroids.
Antibiotics must have worked on multiple occasions…

You're excluding 2 MVPs, 3 Silver Sluggers, and an MVP runner up season.

Oh, 2000-2004, Barry phat head prime.
49
73
46
45
45
His career Avg. HRs was 41. Has anyone ever had a greater increase in one year (almost 80%) over their career average?
40 HR avg. used to be power hitter normalcy....then Bonds turned it on his head.

Definitely him.
Maybe Biggio. Maybe Arod. I think Pudge had a season with a whole bunch.
I bet there are several more from that era.

He'll break the all time record for strikeouts and lowest post season batting average

This is a pretty good career statline, right? .289/.412/.567, 494 HR, 1547 BB, 1189 K, 111.4 bWAR, 3 MVP, 8 Gold Gloves. That's Barry Bonds if he had retired after the 2000 season.
Yep. Barry Bonds went from a clear 1st Ballot HOFr to the arguable the greatest baseball position player ever. Imo, he got pissed with guys like Palmeiro who starting to get to his level and wanted to show everyone what it would look like if the real stud started using PEDs.

Bonds was that dude before the juice 3 mvps in 4 years from 90-94. Golden glove winner 90-94. Silver Slugger 90-94. He had it all.
Edit: He also stole 52 bases in 90' which was 3rd in the MLB. Batted .301 33 home runs 114 RBI in 151 games in the Barry bean pole days is impressive.

Bonds is a top 5 player of all time, roids or not. Most of the top players of his time say he was the best in the game by a margin.

The spin rate and speed are incredible these days.
Speed is the same. MLB started to take speed measurements from 2’ after release in 1990, instead of when the ball crossed the plate. In 2017 they started using track man and for more accurate speeds.

Not a problem with this. He would still be there even if he didn’t roid. I hated it when his head got huge. He really didn’t need them.

If he stayed roid free he could have finished with great numbers.
