The Braves made a series of roster moves this morning, per a club announcement. The club designated infielder Charlie Culberson for assignment to create room on the 40-man and active rosters for newly-acquired infielder Nicky Lopez. Meanwhile, left-hander A.J. Minter was activated from the 15-day injured list. Minter claimed a roster spot that was vacated by right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver when he was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett last night.

What time is the actual deadline?

Tomorrow at 6PM Eastern I believe.

Elder + a minor leaguer or two gets it done IMO. Flaherty is a free agent at the end of the season.
Top 3 dumbest things I've seen a Braves fan say this year. Holy frick. No way you are this stupid.

The deadline always shines a harsh light on who knows what's going on and who only follows NFL and NBA.

I generally don't like to jump posters on here, but I will say I agree with your post.

I dunno man. I snagged Flaherty in The Show 23 and the Bravos won 2 more titles with him in the rotation.
Just something to think about.

An article at mlbtraderumors.com that really doesn’t say much that we don’t already know about the Braves looking for relief help. It is based on a Jon Heyman tweet from this morning.
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/07/braves-looking-for-high-leverage-relief-help.html
Heyman’s tweet:

With the deadline now a day away, the Braves are looking for pitching, with Jon Heyman of The New York Post relaying that help at the back of their bullpen is a target area.
Heyman’s tweet:
quote:
Braves — baseball’s best team — is looking for pitching, including back-end bullpen help. Hader is likely unvailable and Bednar not too likely to move, but if anyone can figure anything out, it’s the Braves.

Heyman has mastered the art of saying nothing of substance at all.

I could see a lesser deal for a guy like Jack Flaherty.

I know I'm not as intellectually gifted as some in here when it comes to the Braves, but having said that, this seems.....stupid? Borderline idiotic even...

You are underselling it. Elder has 4 more years of control. And want to trade him for a guy who has been worse this year. You don't get better swapping elder for Flaherty. And then add a minor leaguer?
Yea, it's beyond idiotic.

How many draft picks will it take to get Ohtani? We’re about to find out

Honestly, let’s bring back Jordan Schafer and move him to lead off and drop Acuna to clean up

While we’re at it let’s go grab Jason Heyward and platoon him with Ozuna

First off no need to attack man. I already said I forgot about the off the field stuff. Can’t we debate or talk about our favorite team without devolving into sophomoric name calling or bashing others? Be better.

Thanks. I didn't think we did aside from Vaughn
Alvarez would certainly intrigue teams imo. Easily our best position player prospect to me. And depending on what you think of the HS arms from the 22 draft, arguably our best prospect outside of AJSS and Waldrep, who can’t be traded.

There’s no one on the shitty farm that would cause me to lose sleep if traded but Grissom, AJSS, Alvarez, Schwellenbach, Phillips, Murphy, Dodd, Ritchie and Guanipa are the only tradable guys who are even more than lotto tickets to me.
Some teams have like 30+ guys better than the last few names on that list and most have at least 18-20.
