I highly doubt he becomes available, but if he does, I would give Cincinnati just about anything they asked for to get Elly. That's the kind of shakeup this team needs, IMO.

We would have to give up a mint for him.

I am ready to move on as well, but they would be stupid to not bring him back for that price. Maybe ship him off for a decent return.

Also, remember when AA said it was better to make a playoff run if you go through the Wild Card round?

Pick up Acuna and Albies's options.

Make resigning Mahle the top priority.

If you can get Dubon and Suter back at reasonable prices, do it.

Love Iggy, but we need to stop spending so much on the bullpen. I know the team wants Fuentes to start, but he is an incredible high leverage reliever, and I think I would keep him there to have an elite guy in this role at a very cheap price.

Bring Jimenez back on a minor league deal to see if he has anything left. If he does, that's another cheap bullpen arm.

Hope that the new CBA will allow us to dump Profar and not have to eat his money. Target Arozarena to fill this role.
Agree with all of this. Regarding Iggy, we spent decent money on Suarez and can have him as our closer with Fuentes as the set-up man.

Walt did a great job IMO

Agreed. The guy had a pitching rotation of Sale, Mahle and bullpen and they got through the Phillies.
We can fault injuries or AA inaction for how things went, but it's not like Walt is sitting there in meetings saying: "Give me a playoff rotation of Sale, Mahle and Ray Kerr or I'm gonna be upset!"

Saw this video earlier FWIW LINK

I'm very much in favor with the third fix. We have had no stability at SS since dansby left. Go all in with prospects to get the best player on a team that's going to rebuild.

Acuña needs to be traded while value is still high.

I'd like to resign Dubon and use him as a utility. If we can trade for a SS then make him permanent SS. And good lord do not offer HSK another penny

Maybe trade murphy?

As much as it pains me to say this, we are stuck with Riley. He's going nowhere. No team is going to trade for that contract with how bad he's been playing.

I feel like a lot of these free agent signings the last couple years have just been really bad whiffs by front office. That has to get better this year, or AA needs to go. I think he already needs to go because his fatass didn't do enough at the deadline and it hurt us big time.

Last night still just stings. The dodgers are beatable this year, and our offense just shite the bed. Have to stop swinging for the fences at every pitch and striking out at pitches away and in the dirt. Play to bring in runs. If it goes out of the park that's lagniappe. We need to give Chipper a blank check to be hitting coach

I won't be surprised if they try to start Fuentes again. He did amazing out of the pen, but I'm sure they did that to get his confidence up to try and put him in the rotation

You're letting your emotions get the best of you.

Trading Acuna makes this team worse in the short term and he's not going to get the haul that you think he will.

One other thing I'll add, more of a hunch with a little intel.

I think Spencer Strider has thrown his last pitch as a Brave.

I assume we'll listen to Acuna offers and we should. 35m for two years of Acuna has obvious value to us but elsewhere too. I'd love to say this is the time to do the deal with him (it is), but I question whether there is a realistic one. I just don't think you can do 8/240 or something with him playing 105 games a season, yet someone might.

IMO AA could do himself a lot of favors by getting a reliable, full freight starter (ie, Michael King) + an equivalent at LF OR SS. I believe in a lot of what AA wants to do, and I'm not asking for him to completely abandon his methods, but it's time to pay sticker for reliable everyday players with postseason upside, at least in a spot or two.

I was shocked when it was reported Texas was willing to take on his contract in a potential deGrom deal. He looks completely finished.

Is it though? And you pointed out the reason in the next few sentences. He’s so injury prone you almost MUST factor in he will miss 3-4 months of those 10 months of regular season.

I always felt like Acuna is not going to be a lifelong Brave. Despite what he says about his “desire”, I really feel like he is not going to listen to a somewhat team-friendly deal before FA just to ensure he does stay in Atlanta.

Can Strider reinvent himself as a bullpen piece? I agree his days of starting is almost certainly over in my opinion

Also, mods, can we please not sticky this at the bottom. I always forget to click on this thread when it’s down there.

I don't think his value is as high as some think. And I don't necessarily think he should be traded. But hearing the boos last night had to have done some damage to his ego. I'm not an IG guy but supposedly he has deleted or archived all of his Braves stuff on there. Again, don't shoot me if I'm wrong, just what I read. I could see his feelings being so hurt, he demands a trade or gives little effort if we have season next year.

I think the boos are earned, but it is weird as hell that Riley doesn’t get booed.

He was infinitely worse and makes more money.

verified he has deleted it all, IF he had any braves stuff posted. I cannot confirm that. maybe someone else who followed him can.
good riddance. get what we can for him and move on. what good is a regular season when u suck arse in post season? i agree on all the others who are overpaid and did not deliver also like riley, etc.

i'd rather take my lumps now in a massive rebuild with a team once they get there will be ready to kick arse and take names. or so we hope. better than what we have now. All he has posted is his venezuelan shite.

That's just not who he is. This board and the fanbase has this warped sense of reality when it comes to Acuna and I don't like it. He is a team player through and through but that gets co-opted because he wears chains and does weird jogs around the bases on homers.

He also told the media yesterday he deserved the boos.
