Attendance smack is the lamest smack of all.

It's true that bandwagon fans were slow to get on board this year, but even serious baseball cities have lightly attended weekday games until the playoffs. An o course Houston is football first. Everyone knows that. Children in North Korea know that.

Good thing we're already familiar with Yu. I think he's been okay for the Dodgers but nothing great.

Amazing how Verlander was easily the best big name starting pitcher traded this season.

Quintana, Gray, and Darvish all had okay performances.

Oh shite I forgot our pitchers have to bat damnit.

So there goes the big 7-8-9 hole run production at least for the first 2 games. No McCann rbi doubles from the 9 spot.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but WE'RE frickING WORLD SERIES BOUND WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Gotta give credit to the Yankees though. They put up a hell of a fight and a hell of a series. They almost pulled it off, but thankfully the good guys won it. The Yankees will be back, but this year is the Astros win. I'm enjoying the hell out of this until Tuesday. Can't wait for game 1.

Congrats Astros and fans. I hope you beat Dodgers. I want to see Verlander and Beltran get a ring.

I was watching MLB tonight and they started the show by saying the Yankees had a good run. No credit to the Astros

Then showing the highlights of game 7, when they got to altuve'S homer they called him "the other MVP candidate, the smaller man in the fight" but not by name

I don't even care. World Series bound mother frickers

Altuve should get MVP. When Judge slumped after the All Star break, Altuve was still raking.

Had to go to hunting lease today near Refugio. On way back I listened to the Victoria affiliate until el campo then had to use FS1 app played over truck speakers and couldn't get 790 until sugarland. Made it home in time to see the fifth inning and then had to go to a bar for an event...watched it there gmfot last 2.5 innings. I don't ever recall using so many forms of media to watch one game. Geaux Stros!!

The bandwagon fans use to bother me, but since moving to Houston 10+ years ago I have noticed a phenomenon.

Texas people will cheer for any Texas team who is having success as they describe for Texas pride. I found it strange when my mother in law a stated Astros fan was cheering for the rangers a few years ago etc. I came to realize this is how a lot of this state is for whatever reason.

Man, there was a ton of shite talking from some Yankees "fans" after games 3,4, and 5.

I'm not one to dust all of them off, but I'd certainly not mind if someone else did.

What would be the point? The Yankees, who many were wondering if they would win 80 games at the beginning of the season, took you to a game 7 in the ALCS, which you may very well have lost if not for home field advantage.

Just tip your cap, be happy with the win, and hope you can win on the road in L.A.

Not sure where exactly this fits in, but saw this on Reddit and felt like it needed to be shared at some point this series, kept forgetting.

quote:

What I fricking hate about Yankees fans (including the national media that follows them like lapdogs) is that they all act like their overachieving season is due to some incredibly well run organization overcoming impossible odds, when it was their deep payroll all along that allowed them to eat all the horrible contracts that would have weighed down any other team for a decade (see the Detroit Tigers). Their payroll means they could just get A-Rod to retire instead of keeping him on the 40 man roster to collect insurance. It means that they don't need to trade away prospects to dump salaries, but can instead participate at will in other teams' salary dumps, like they did with the White Sox, taking on Todd Frazier's salary as a sweetener to land Kahnle and Robertson. Basically, their payroll allows them to operate with infinite margin of error that an organization like CLE just doesn't have.

I told some friends on Monday I had a great feeling about Charlie Morton. That feeling was right just wrong game Every single guy on this team contributed to this series win. Reddick who was off with his bat had two of the biggest defensive plays in the series. Colin Mchugh ate up some huge innings in relief. Lance McCullers who I personally had written off with 2 weeks to go in the season has completely redeemed himself. And on and on and on. We are in the world series. Of course I want to win but man it sure is a great feeling just to get here. It also is one of those rare times where I feel like the best two teams come out of a playoff. Sure Cleveland won 1 more regular season game but it was almost entirely due to one record setting win streak. We were there from april till now. Same with the Dodgers.
