So Ewers was poor at decision making and consistency? Two “kinda” important traits….

Yeah, but Ewers made up for it by being short and skinny with an average arm.

Seriously I remember when I first saw him - I’m like this guy is the top prospect in the country and a Texas legend really?

I’m no expert in QB evaluation and I understand not writing a guy off after one game but I just didn’t see the potential everybody talked about.

His arm seemed weak and he was laboring to get any zip on the ball.

2A ball is the lowest level of high school football. He was 2nd string All State in 2A ball...... 2nd string.

Yeah and Arch couldn't beat him out. There's belief that you can teach those kind of things but you have to have the clay (natural ability) to mold and build upon. I honestly haven't seen that from Arch yet.

Go back and watch this. This was Ewers second start as a redshirt freshman against a Saban led Bama team. He beats Bama if he doesn't get hurt. Look how different it looks vs what Arch did. Arch is in his 3rd year in the same system and Ewers is in his 2nd year in a different system as a transfer from Ohio State. It's night and day

I almost felt bad for the kid

So then where does 1A fit in?

Small school. He was the biggest guy on both sides of the ball the game I saw him play in high school. Good arm but wasn’t challenged at all. He will be good in college but he’s not there yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it pretty much the same competition that Peyton and Eli had?

More of the same competition Odell Beckham had in high school

People are expecting him to be like Payton or Eli but that’s not the type of QB he is. He’s an athletic guy who can throw it, more like Archie, but he’s not a polished and precise passer like his uncles were. People have a misconception about him and they also forget that Sark is one of the biggest chokers in the country.

Wasn't Eli in his 3rd year before he was a starter?

I still think he may end up being really good. I just think that crowning him after a few games of sample was absurd. He still has time to develop.

Do we think the opposite applies to watching him play one game in the Shoe?

how athletic though? A lot of guys look good in high school who don’t exactly make it in the SEC

A shite ton of veteran QBs looked really bad this weekend, but everyone is freaking out about a guy just tabbed 1st string playing at Ohio State

Have yall seen Nussmeirs stats for pretty much all road game last year?

He should not have been a 5 star. He reminded me of Matt Flynn coming out, actually. Solid high 3 star, borderline 4. I don't ever see him being 1.1 but he will be a solid CFB QB
