MLB, PLL, INDY, F1, IMSA, NASCAR... there are lots of sports on that have much higher entertainment value than what the WNBA provides night in and night out IMHO. PLL honestly might be my favorite, that is a fun sport.
I put PLL in the same category with soccer or hockey. I might like it more if I understood the game and the strategy of it.

I actually prefer rugby over lacrosse, although I don't know much about that sport either.

1. There isn't shite on TV to watch sports-wise in the summer.
2. Football season doesn't start for another month.
3. The talent level in the league has improved, and I like their attitude. They still play the game because they love it, not because of the money.
The money aspect of pro sports has turned me off to almost all pro sports. And unfortunately, now it's seeping into college sports as well.

My interest in the league has started picking up too for mostly the same reasons.

I also like the fact that there is less "manhandling/muscling" in women's basketball and to me that makes it more based on pure basketball skill and less on size.

This is a pretty simple breakdown of some of the basics of the game, short, sweet video that makes watching it understandable.

Fair point. I guess what I mean is, they haven't let the money go to their head like other pro athletes.

Because they had no choice. There was no money lol

Although I was concerned about Angel there for a while. She seems to be getting her head on straight (or straighter than it was before). It seems the influence of Shaq and Lisa Leslie has helped.

Is she back wanting to play the villain role? Or has she crawfished on that again?

But for now, and for the last 25-plus years, it's been about the love of the game.

It’s about as real of a stat as the WNBA is a real basketball league.

She never said that. According to Sports Illustrated, it was a made up quote.

From SI:
quote:

An X post from a random user making up a fake quote from Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese went viral on March 5. The post wrote, "WNBA women's basketball star Angel Reese says, 'We should be getting paid like NBA players.'"

Despite there being no source to this supposed quote from Reese (which, again, she never said), the 22-year-old did discuss her current WNBA salary with Wings standout DiJonai Carrington during a March 7 episode of Reese's Unapologetically Angel show.

"Yeah, the new CBA is coming up. I can't wait. We deserve more. Everybody," Reese said. She then added, "The [2026 WNBA rookie class] are probably gonna be making more than us."

Explain to us the difference between these two:

We should be making nba money

We should be getting paid like nba players

As I understand it the women want the same percentage of revenue sharing as NBA players get, which is 50%. The women currently receive something like 9%.
