If Reid had taken the TD and somehow lost the game on a 2 min drill from the Eagles he would have been eviscerated and would have deserved every bit of it. Even if the end of the game was anticlimactic it was the right decision.

And the 15 years before that?

Yeah there’s a reason that Philly was trying to let him score.

we should of ran up the middle 3 times and kicked the fg to put the game away.

KC’s kicker had slipped at least twice already—once on the missed FG and another on the kickoff

This is the only legitimate argument.

You literally have to have a very low confidence in a 27 yard FG for it to not be the correct decision.

It was a smart decision.

Score a TD and there's little chance you lose.

Kill the clock and kick a FG and there's an almost zero chance you lose.

You also have to literally disagree with both coaches because both obviously thought not scoring was the best chance of KC winning.

It was the only decision to be made for KC and perfectly logical given the time remaining. Either you make the FG and win, or you miss and go to OT still with a chance to win. Either way, it’s out of the hands of your opponent (who already had 35 on the board btw) barring a miraculous play.

...and, if you score a TD and the kicker slips on the XP (tougher than the FG) you might be fricked.

...or, if you score a TD and the kicker slips on the kickoff and puts it out of bounds, everything changes.

There's very little argument. Unless you think the chances of missing that FG are significant, the correct choice was made.

My main point is that this was not a given on that field last night.

Even in your wildest math it’s like 95% instead of 99% though

Well I know a guy that wishes he would have scored…. His number to win the quarter for KC was 2. Lost like $4,000 in whisky.

Stop posting on football sites. Because you obviously don’t know anything about winning a game.

Harrison Butker is 45/45 on FGs under 30 yards in his career.

Just a couple years ago Penn State lost a game to Indiana b/c they scored instead of laying down at the one. You play to win the game and sometimes the most sure way to win is to bleed clock.

So you would have scored a touchdown and given Hurts two minutes to run the field - and then go for two to win?

The Eagles should have a) stopped them and/or b) not wasted their 3rd timeout.

I actually hated the Four Corners. I’m ok with what he did yesterday. The rules are so pro offense, a lead isn’t safe with 1:00 to play. It used to not be that way. BTW….I’m old too.

The Chiefs secondary is also terrible enough they’d have enough time to run their own 1 minute drill

Would you have hated it if they did run and the eagles played it soft and let him in?

No one was playing the opponent anymore. They were playing against the clock.
