FSU and Clemson better hope the ACC stays together as it is come 2030. Otherwise they'll be playing midweek basketball games in Manhattan and Lubbock.

What a reversal.

FSU while bad this year can easily be good in 4 years from now.

With the current landscape it shouldn’t even take that long.

Who the frick is UWF?

Florida State wouldn’t be playing Florida and Miami in prime games every year if they weren’t up there as a brand…

And they have more national championships than most teams

They aren't a flagship unviersity nor have statewide support. A tiny area of the panhandle is all they have, most of the panhandle is divided up between Auburn, Bama, LSU, UWF, and UF as well.

That’s not true. I have a lot of friends in Central Florida and a majority are Noles fans.

Why exactly is it not about tv markets any longer?

Easy money the SEC’s next move is going after UNC and UV

Would a random person that lives in North Carolina, but isn't a UNC fan be more likely to watch a random SEC game after UNC moves to the SEC than before?

As an LSU fan, I'm more likely to watch a random SEC game than another conference. But if I moved to North Carolina I don't think I would all of a sudden start watching ACC games more.

The benefit used to be adding newspaper beat writers and local TV coverage, but how many people look at newspapers anymore.

How much coverage does USCe get in Charlotte?

You think FSU is the flagship school in Florida?

It’s not, but it is a statewide school not a directional.

Yes. It is far and away the second most popular program in the state. There are more Noles fans in the Miami area than Hurricanes fans according to a buddy of mine who is a Miami season ticket holder.

Because in an increasingly streaming/subscriber-for-sports market, the value is in the ratings, not just having a presence in an area and assuming that all cable customers in the geographical territory are funding your conference network.

Yeah I'm sure UCLA brought a "new media market" to the Big 10 that USC didn't bring.

So is FSU saying it was a shakedown in an attempt at uneven revenue distribution in their favor?

OK?

You realize there are almost no die hard Miami fans in the entire state.

Yankees attend and most go back north.

It’s guido central.

This. There’s a reason the ACC wanted SMU for the right price

Now they all get exposure in the best HS football market in the country

This is why Navy plays 2-3 games in Texas every year…no surprise their bowl game this year is in Fort Worth
