Seriously? It’s a red card offense if you cover your mouth so that you don’t get caught talking shite?

I thought it was a bad rule too at first but it's more specific. Only applies if you cover your mouth while saying something to an opponent.
Idea is apparently because you're trying to hide what you said from the refs/cameras, which you do only if it crosses the line.

so that you don’t get caught talking shite?
Being racist/homophobic/other forms of -ism however is not allowed and per the Laws is a red card
Over time players in elite competitions figured out they needed to cover their mouths when crossing the line because of how good cameras have gotten. If you’re not covering it’s essentially impossible to not get caught and suspended for multiple games. So this is a rare logical Law change that cuts through bullshite
The Paraguayan player caught covering his mouth was also the one who got a yellow for diving against us. He doesn’t need your sympathy

Not that hard to not say racist shite on an athletic field...

Damn woke libtards, can't even call someone racial slurs on the field anymore. Men need to be MEN again

Can we not have the opinion that
1) you shouldn’t say racist shite
2) this rule is gay af and in line with Europes policing of language online which is 100% oppression of its people.
Meaning I have no issue with slurs being ejectable offenses. But Europe keeps tightening the leash of government overreach and this is just another example. Just the possibility that you might say something uncanny gets you ejected. Doesn’t matter if you were just talking strategy or anything else.

American sports leagues ban/penalize what an athlete can say on the field too....

Does “The Jews did this” cross the line?

Yes they penalize you for what you say. Not what you might have said.

This is embarrassingly naive

White people were saying so much racist shite that they started doing it while covering their mouth?
And they had to make a rule for it?

It's fricking bullshite brought on because a little bitch player claimed he was called something racist when his shirt was up and, of course, TPTB immediately believed the bitch.

By that measure its also not hard to not think or say racist shite anytime. Athletic fields are part of everyday life, for professional athletes, their life is encompassed by what happens on them. If they think and say racist things in other walks of life and its OK, then athletic fields shouldn't be held to a different standard. No one should think or say racist things ever but yet we all do.
Policing this is akin to telling your child its OK to cuss just not where I can hear.

To me no, but it was a rule placed by fifa after a player VinicousJr of Brazil claimed a played called him a bunch of racist slurs. FIFA tried to investigate the claim by they couldn't read the player in question lips.
Soccer players a soft to begin with except VinnyJones and el vamperino.
