I mean if I was told I wasn't getting paid before I started a job I'd be pissed too.

I think I liked CFB better when we all knew players were getting paid but pretended it didn't happen at our schools.

A Player in Love (It's not Me)
Ghost of Tom Petty wrote a new song for NIL days at UF. Same great guitar work as always by Petty and Campbell. Incidentally the B-side for this single was titled "Gator on the lawn".

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers Lyrics
"A Player In Love (It's Not Me)"

QB laughed in my face, told me goodbye
Said, "Don't think about it, you can go crazy
Anything can happen, anything can end
Don't try to fight it, Bama done paid me"

QB's a player in love, QB's a player in love
And he's gonna break UF's heart to pieces
Billy don't wanna see
QB's a player in love, but it's not me

Well alright, do what you want
Don't try to talk, don't say nothing
QB used to be the kind of player, you have and you hold
QB could read a defense, no payment needed to go

QB's a player in love, QB's a player in love
And QB's gonna break UF's heart to pieces
Billy don't wanna know
QB's a player in love, QB love that dough

Time after time, night after night
QB would look at me and say "I need money"
I don't understand the world today, I don't understand what QB needed
I gave him everything, went to Bama anyway and got money

QB's a player in love, QB's a player in love
And QB's gonna break UF's heart to pieces
Billy don't wanna know
QB's a player in love, QB love that dough

QB's a player in love

As much as I enjoy how much Florida is flailing these days, they would/will likely be better off without him.

I've known players at multiple SEC schools, back in the day, on title teams. Each one said there are "tours" of the facilities at half time and when they get dressed after games they tend to find rolls of $20s in their pockets.

I miss the good ole days.

If a school has to engineer your NIL deals, then you don't really have any value.

The entire concept is ridiculous. If you are actually marketable, then you will get deals. If someone has to provide you with deals, then you aren't really marketable, and you are just a leech with your hand out.

SUPPOSEDLY these players were just turning away money left and right, because it was against the rules.

But now that it's legal, it's "bring me NIL deals"

I don't care about NIL, but that's not what this is.

Rashada reportedly told Florida in regards to his NIL figures “I won’t back down.”

Sun Belt Billy and his New Iberia fade can’t handle the SEC

There are reasons to make fun of Billy especially for some of his game management decisions, but I can't help for feel bad for him if this stuff is true. This falls on boosters either unwilling or unable to play ball to land high profile recruits. That's not really Billy's fault.

Hopefully he sues for breach of contract and the games really begin

I would think that the "value" of his NIL to the entity that offers to compensate him for it is predicated on his visibilty as a player for the Florida Gators and if he doesn't show up, he himself is breaching the contract? The NIL contract isn't with UF but that's who he's retaliating against when he doesn't show up.

You think the kid is the douche bag here?

He agreed to a deal and Florida has reneged. Why the hell should he show up?
