link?
dude was playing pro football at 20 and if not for injuries could have been GOAT

and when you say insane potential, it doesn't do him justice

That was awesome. I feel like that man is truly good person. One of the more laid back individuals I have ever heard of. Though that attitude may have been his demise at OU. Just seemed happy despite what he had gone through. His "agent" was a tool

LOVED this documentary. I wish things would have turned out better for Marcus, but he seems to be content and happy with himself and his life.

Props to Marcus for doing something good with his life. Tough watching him break down at the end and watch his old highlights.

Guy was probably so great, but it just didn't matter to him. Probably equivalent to a super genius academic being bored with everyday school.

I saw Switzer in the DFW airport about 5 years ago. Looks like he's still an arrogant a-hole.

You should call ESPN and tell them what a waste of time this program was because you know more about everything than them and, well everyone else. WTF do they know about sports anyway. I mean, relative to you.

He's definitely at peace with himself.

this is what i just don't get. he seemed too injury prone and didn't seem to have the heart to be great in the nfl. obviously, i'm only going by what i watched on film tonight, but you could say the same thing about plenty of guys in high school and their first year or so in college (AD, clarrett, herschel, etc)

Probably because he wasn't serious about staying in shape and when he was it was too little, too late.

Proof that just because you are not a college grad or a millionaire does not mean that you have not made something of your life. They never mentioned a wife or kids, though.

That was the whole point of the damn documentary. "The Best that Never Was." Meaning if every thing would have gone the way of your "typical" NFL player he would have probably been one of the greatest of all time. The fact that people took advantage of him, didn't give him good advice, corrupted his recruiting process, and ran him into the ground in college is the reason he never made it. If you don't get it, you my friend are ridiculous.

lol, you're sensitive nancy.

i just don't see the hype or purpose. maybe if i followed his recruitement and lived in miss or was a sooner fan in the early 80's i'd get it. we always hear stories about these 'freak" athletes who would've been the GOAT or could've been the GOAT if ____ didn't happen, or if ____ didn't occur. I guess I just don't see the point besides being a sad story, but there are literally millions of similar sad stories which happen every year.
