Dupree seems like a genuine guy from his interviews. If I was him I would beat the hell out of Ken Fairley, but for some reason he never said anything negative about him unlike his old HS buddy who worked out with him.

I totally forgot about him playing for the Rams. BTW...somebody is gonna take that Fairley piece of garbage out after this!

I didn't realize he had ever made it. This was a pleasant surprise. Still an unfortunate and sad story, but at least Dupree seems content.

excuse my insensitivity, but why was this a big story? he was a high school star who never panned out, suffered injury, made a semi-comeback, but never did much of anything with football professionally?? and he got taken advantage of by a reverend/friend. what am i missing, besides he was a huge high school recruit?

My cousin played in HS against Dupree's son in the playoffs back in 2000 here in Mississippi. His son signed with and played a little at Alabama and never was a star.

He was the best high school player of all-time, and had insane potential. His recruitment alone is worth the story.

Yeah I feel bad for the guy. If he would've stuck it out at Oklahoma the guy could've been a big NFL star.

His freshman year at OU was unreal. The hype is justified.

He was probably the first HS recruit to receive the kind of national attention that we take for granted today. Watching him announce his college choice earlier in the program made me realize he was probably the first HS player to do that, with the microphones and the press and all that shite. We see that shite every year now, but back then, it was extraordinary. He was a freak and had he had one person who gave a shite about him back then, he probably would have been the GOAT in the NFL.

It is sad, but he had more opportunity than any of us did and he blew it by chosing OU or leaving OU.

this is what i just don't get. he seemed too injury prone and didn't seem to have the heart to be great in the nfl. obviously, i'm only going by what i watched on film tonight, but you could say the same thing about plenty of guys in high school and their first year or so in college (AD, clarrett, herschel, etc)
