That was the best one by far. I felt sorry for that guy. He seemed like he was taken advantage of and yet he ended up becoming a guy that didn't hold grudges. He just took what life handed him and moved on...the right way

Actually the first 30 for 30 that i've watched. He was in college around my junior year in highschool...I remember being in awe of him and Herschel Walker. I actually didn't know the story of his recruitment and HS years.
A great story. I told my wife that while he was looking at the HS film towards the end of the film....he appeared in to be in awe of what he was watching....like he didn't believe it was him. Right after that, he made the same statement.
Like others have said.....it seems he truly didn't recognize his gift.

i just dont like the story that much. yeah he was supposed to be amazing, but he wasnt bc he didnt want it, because he was missing something.
there are plenty of guys who are missing a pretty big aspect of the game that prevents them from becoming the GOAT. this guy seems no different.
that's really not the case. the guy did want it. he was manipulated and taken advantage of, specifically by his uncle and this dude from Southern Miss that ended up as his agent and ripping him off. it's like the anti-Blind Side story. if someone in a position of influence around him would have been the least bit altruistic, it would have all worked out differently.
If he didn't want it, he wouldn't have worked himself back into football shape on his own after being out of football for several years, much less actually succeed in making an NFL roster.

He was a freak and had he had one person who gave a shite about him back then, he probably would have been the GOAT in the NFL.
He did. He had his mother which he didn't listen to.

Best 30 for 30 I've seen yet. I actually teared up at the end.
Loved the Breakers footage. Brings back great memories for me.
The bonus Jim Henderson cameo was very cool, too.
I think the whole pay-for-play revalation is eerily relevant to the Cam saga going on right now. Very timely doc. Never thought he'd ask for a double-wide though. :)
I feel bad for Dupree. His immediate family is gone. His career is gone. He also got screwed by a lot of people he trusted. His own poor work ethic and bad decisions also helped deter what might have been one of the greatest football careers we would have ever seen. But I do feel his has come to terms with it all, and is moving on. So I wish him the best.

I wasnt a live for this, but this is a great program.
ON a side not, Sports is a great way for people to get out of a bad place into a good one if education is not a viable option.
