Well fellas, pulled my first 1/1 and it was out of a Topps single pack. Nick Kurtz Rookie on top of that! Feel like I won the lottery. I think my heart is still racing

Question for most of you in here. I have been a collector pretty much my entire life but since my early 20's I have been kind of off and on again with collecting. Have some of you been like this or am I the only one? I stop then I get the urge to start collecting again. My recent purchases include a Pistol Pete autograph and a Nick Saban Geaux Tigers autograph in his book. I did also pick up some autos of Tommy White, Kade Anderson, and Anthony Eyenson(spelled wrong. This has been after about a break of two years without buying anything.

Some recent pickups of the hottest hitter in baseball. 2025 All Kings and 2024 Gold Minted. Going to be hard to compete for MVP on a last place team though.

Those All Kings insert are a beauty. hard to grade a 10 too. Congrats.

I got some new mail too that I need to take some pictures of and post them tomorrow. Veriswap has been good to me lately on adding to my PC. Finally took some time and listed stuff on eBay too to sell off some of my non PC.

A payton rookie even in not great condition is still a good card. That's an iconic rookie. I think mine is graded a 6. Got it years ago for like $100, wish I would have bought 20 of them.

For a while I've had a pretty extensive but narrowly-focused collection of multi-player auto cards of former LSU athletes. For the most part that has lent itself to football, but here are some baseball ones I've picked up recently. Will try to get around to posting the whole collection at some point.

I've seen videos of people going into a Walmart, Target grabbing all the boxes they can. Appears they are hoping to get that one special card that's worth $$$$.

As a person that will go to a casino every 3 - 4 months for a little fun what box would be worth taking a chance on? Realize it's a gamble, but just like a casino your hoping for that one special time.

And what would be a good price on a box to take a chance on? Thx

I think its been mentioned before on here its better to just buy the singles you want on Ebay than it is hoping to hit a big score in buying the boxes.

99% of the guys going into Walmart and Target buying up all the boxes of Topps Chrome and Pokemon are guys just flipping it on eBay, Facebook, WhatNot. Virtually none of them are actually opening boxes. It's pretty annoying. I haven't gone in a Walmart or Target in ages to look for cards because I know anything new will be gone. People know when the stocker comes and they sit and wait and snatch them up.

dacardworld.com is a great online card shop for boxes. They have everything. What sport are you trying to open? If you have a local card shop it's nice to support them, they'll typically be around the same price as dacardworld or a little higher just because they don't have the volume. I stick to singles but still like to rip from time to time, I just don't rip anything expensive anymore.

Probably looking at baseball, since I've always followed since I was a kid. As I mentioned earlier about casinos it's a gamble, just the big hope. Disposable income. Will check out dacradworld and snoop around, thanks.

Edit... Live in a small town in Az, so there is no card shop here. But we do have a Walmart, that's why I included it earlier.

Yea you have a lot of options with baseball. Topps, Topps Chrome, Topps Heritage, Allen and Ginter, Topps Finest. All pretty popular. Or if you like prospects you have things like Bowman Prospects where you have more of the up and comers rather than the established players.

Just remember a blaster and mega box is cheaper but your odds of hitting the bigger cards is lower hobby boxes are more expensive but typically have more guarantees in them. Also, with baseball, Panini products do not have the MLB license so they are cheaper because they are not allowed to have the team logos on the cards/players.
