It doesn't matter this year as Barbe is head and shoulders above everyone else. They're in a class of their own. Not even close.

anything can happen in the playoffs. Sulphur, Sam and others can easily win a series with a few bounces their way.

LSUDAN
Not sure if you have any current or recent dealings with the school, but I keep referencing the new admin. If Lee was still there, I’d be concerned. These guys have their stuff together and have been working their asses off to fix 40 years of frick ups. If an alum is chosen, it will not be without full consideration of the others.

Word is that there have been quite a few applicants already send in apps but not as many as they hoped for. Likely due to the season still ongoing. I don't get the sense that the interim wants the full time gig. I’d imagine they will review the candidates they have in the meantime and wait until the end of the season to make another push. But they need to make a decision very quickly after playoffs end.

Do you think they have anyone on staff that is interested/would be a good hire?

Can't see anybody beating Barbe in a 3 game series this year. One game, yes, not a series.

The interim coach does not plan to apply. The other young assistant wants the job badly and has put a staff together. But no word on what the admin wants to do.

No clue who he is referencing about the coach that works at a gym....

They better do something fast, because they could lose some of the better players if they take too long or make the wrong hire. If everyone comes back the first year coach will walk into a very talented Div 2 team. Interested to see how it plays out.

No matter how much the kids like them, I don’t see them choosing a current assistant unless it is either their last option or they get blown away by the interview. Their first choice is someone more experienced with a track record of development. They have enough core talent, good facilities, and a lot of support from parents and admin to attract a really good coach. Their main main hurdle is going to be the salary.

I think I have ARCA at Ascension Episcopal tomorrow.

Opelousas Catholic at STM also this week. Notre Dame vs. Vermilion Catholic next week.

It’s baseball. Anything can happen.

I’m talking about power ratings. They’re pretty much 5 points ahead of everyone. They’re not dropping from the top seed.

Real fun game at St. Paul’s tonight between them and mandeville. Mandeville freshman hit a nuclear bomb in the last inning to tie it up

this should be a fun one.

Sam Houston beat kinder last night to get revenge for the scrimmage right before season where Kinder embarrassed them 12-1 last night

Sam Houston plays at Sulphur tonight in a huge game

both teams would like to be on the other side of the bracket from Barbe if possible. Currently SH is #3 but if they win out and Zachary drops 2 of the next 3(Central & Catholic 2x) there is a good chance SH could jump to #2. Doesnt matter a ton here but they do not want to fall back to #4

Sulphur sits at 8 right now, they need to stay at 8 or higher to get the bye, they would like to be 6 or 7.

benton and dutchtown will be interesting to see who gets the #4 seed, they are very very close in the rankings.

question is.....does chalmette make it? currently sitting at 25 by a razor thin margin....can they get in?

We have two Salmen power rating bombs left (which I guess is better than losing this time of year) and then Slidell and Rummel both at Suarez… I’m not sure winning out will be enough.

Then if we beat Slidell but they win district by beating Northshore, they might not make it to #24 and bump that team out. (Slidell is like #31)

We have a shot to miss the playoffs in all three major boys sports with a winning season and by one spot… maybe could make a unique trophy for that our boys haven’t played a state playoff game in anything since the 24 football quarterfinal at Neville

win out and a loss by the team above you, gets you in. its razor close right now, .04 i believe.

yall need to get better at scheduling little schools that give power point bumps. even if you have to travel.

No we needed to not lose to Northshore at home and get walked off by Slidell… do that and we’re trying to win district this week.

Have you looked at a map? we don’t have those little schools within driving distance. B and C doesn’t really exist near NOLA.

Or how about we use winning percentage for the baseball power ratings like we do for football and basketball so teams aren’t as pressured to play 34 games…
