The interim coach does not plan to apply. The other young assistant wants the job badly and has put a staff together. But no word on what the admin wants to do.

No clue who he is referencing about the coach that works at a gym....

They better do something fast, because they could lose some of the better players if they take too long or make the wrong hire. If everyone comes back the first year coach will walk into a very talented Div 2 team. Interested to see how it plays out.
People need to stop complaining about WM , almost all the kids at Catholic are hold back too. Everyone does it now.
You absolutely can blame him on that one. That was an easy play for an average catcher.
You guys are idiots, you play to win today. 5 run lead with 2 guys on isn’t some huge lead. Win today with 2 pitchers. Saw how happy Jay was postgame , the plan couldn’t have went any better. It’s embarrassing that we have fans like the guys commenting in this thread.

Dwain Varisco will coach the remainder of the season. Current pitching coach.

They did move on from Tookie today.

St Michael beat Dunham 6-5 with a Grand Slam in the 7th. They are getting healthy. Curious to see if the coaching change makes a difference.
Pville 28 & 29 classes are really good. It is basically what Dutchtown's classes normally look like minus one or 2 players.

DT 28 and 29 are not strong , have a couple upper end players but drops off fast. Interesting to see how the program goes after this year. (27 wasn't very good either)

Sta 28 class looked really strong but it's not very good on the mound. Not as deep as Pville though they do have the best 28 player. 29 isn't as good as Pville either.

No excuse for Pville to not have the best team the next couple years.
West Monroe’s bats aren’t cold. They just aren’t a good hitting team.

You going to be surprised when a lot of the 13u kids throwing 80 will be sitting 82/83 their junior year. I can't get over how many kids never increase the velo after 13. Some kids lose velo when they get to HS. I also know some 2027 and 2028 kids that killed 80 plus mph stuff at 13 and 14 and can't hit JV pitching right now. It's wild.
What is going on at Teurling , I don’t think anyone saw a 2-4 start.

Romero is insane

But his coach is an idiot. No way you let a kid with that future who throws 90 plus throw 114 pitches in February

St Michael 12-2 vs ES
Central 13-2 vs Dunham

The 1 hit Live Oak got was a routine pop up and the outfielder tripped. LO didn't get an actual hit.

BM should win all three of those games.

DT vs UHIGH the best of the opening games tonight.
Seen Ott at Live Oak a bunch and kid is a player. Maybe not top 20, not sure he was even best sophomore on the field last night vs St Michael, but I want him on my team. PBR has great coverage , but are all over the place on younger kids. Tend to just rank the pitchers high because velo is easy to measure.
Sam’s 28 class is unreal. Catholics 28 is also very good, plus they had a couple good players transfer into that class this year.
Barbe 2028 class maybe the weakest Barbe class ever - but it’s sandwiched between 2 good Barbe classes.
Some jamboree/ scrimmage scores from tonight

Catholics beat ED White 13-4
WM beat Ruston 8-2
St Michael beat Live Oak 6-4

Some asked who has the best 27’ Class. That is a hard question to answer. The 27’ class loaded at the top in State. But it’s not strong in BR.
When they were freshman it looked like STA had a great class. But it hasn’t developed that way. I lean toward Central. Catholic’s got better getting Live Oaks best player, but he is the only good position player in that class for them.

I know you guys have seen some of these 2031 kids, but be careful thinking Baton Rouge is loaded in 2031. Every year people think the young class they see is loaded. If you around high school baseball you will know that the Freshman class coming in is always supposed to be one of the best classes the school has had. Everyone falls trap to that. Now we are saying it about 8th grade classes.

But one thing is correct , Catholic is going to get the majority of good players in BR. That will always be true. the 27 class is the only one in last few years that wasn't the best in the area. But even that class some good players.

Coaches Pitch. Pay baseball the right way. No excuse to play a LH SS past Tball.

It's fun to learn who the other kids are and watch them grow up and follow how they are doing. Plus if your kid is good, you will pick up. I feel like mine has played with a kid at half the high school's in the state. Don't worry about the 1 or 2 guys who are taking shots.

On the Lake Charles area , everyone gets on Barbe for recruiting (they do). But Sam is recruiting just as hard , several of those 28 kids are not from their area.
