Driving it in sims, it's a fun track to drive. It's not a good track for F1 racing, however. WEC has had a couple of good races there the past two years.

All right, the TD F1 Championship results are in!
dg42.net/TDF1/race-results.php?race=23
The winner of the TD F1 Qatar Grand Prix is MississippiLebowski with his first win and first podium of the season!
The podium is filled out by pitstop in P2 for his seventh podium, and busbeepbeep in P3 for his third podium.
Here's the championship table: dg42.net/TDF1/index.php?table=full
With pitstop scoring a podium finish and bikerack not scoring at all, pitstop is again our championship leader!
sorantable scored four points to inch closer to bikerack. But gatorhater08 scored 12 points to cut his deficit to sorantable in half to just eight points.
With MississippiLebowski's win, he jumped up from P17 in the standings to P12.
With busbeepbeep's podium finish, he jumped up from P11 in the standings to P8.
With just one race left, Here are the possibilities at the top after Abu Dhabi:
pitstop needs to finish P6 or higher to guarantee the championship. But also if bikerack finishes P3 or lower, and sorantable finishes P2 or lower.
bikerack can win if he finishes P2 and pitstop doesn't score (and sorantable doesn't win the race), or if bikerack wins and pitstop finishes P7 or lower. In the first scenario bikerack ties pitstop on points but wins the tiebreaker with four wins vs two.
sorantable can still win the championship if he wins in Adu Dhabi, pitstop doesn't score, and bikerack finishes P3 or lower. sorantable easily wins the 184-point tiebreaker with pitstop with four wins vs two wins.
If sorantable wins the race, bikerack finishes P2, and pitstop doesn't score, they would all finish with 184 points. In that scenario bikerack would win the tiebreaker with four wins, a P2, P3, and a P3. sorantable would be next with four wins, a P2, P3, and a P4. pitstop would finish third with just two wins. This is my ideal scenario!!!
With just one race left, gatorhater08 is the only other driver with a chance to get on the podium and win a prize.

Watched the race, and Piastri can be pissed off, but he needs to be reminded that it's a team sport and to show a bit of humility. His sour and dour pouting 'attitude' was really unnecessary and I'm sure didn't play well with his team, which likely already felt bad enough, already.
Agreed. “I driver my hardest and still didn’t get the result I wanted” while acting like someone kicked his dog.

Might be great to drive but isn’t great for F1 action

Those reporters are trying to start drama in McLaren with those questions

Wouldn’t have won today if it weren’t for the strategy screw ups.

Lewis Hamilton is washed and acted like a childish baby during his interviews after being bounced in SQ1 and Q1.
WASHED

Ferrari deserves everything they get for the move of hiring Hamilton. Hamilton has been washed for years, IMO.
Perhaps they want to get more wealthy black athletes to buy Ferrari's, but I believe that every car Ferrari builds is already sold or reserved. Unless Ferrari increases their manufacturing capacity, I don't understand what the ultimate motive was for Ferrari to make the deal with Hamilton.
The hiring of Hamilton makes/made no sense to me.

Ferrari has been the surprise of the season for me. Didn’t expect them to go from finishing a close second to fourth. If things finish how they are now, Williams and Ferrari will be right next to each other in the pit lane next season.

Hear me out. It makes perfect sense if you hired Hamilton to sell t-shirts and key chains. Google says Ferrari sells $2.5b in accessories, and $5b in cars. Google says the gross margin on a car is 50%, and nets 20% (that's fantastic, btw). A plain t-shirt from Ferrari costs $220 (source). I would wager their gross and net profit percentages on a t-shirt is at minimum double that of a car. Likely way more than double. If we look at it on a dollar basis (or Euro basis, whatever), half the revenue at double the margin is as much as they make on cars.
I know it's not that simple, but it passes the sniff test.

That actually makes sense. Kind of the Redbull formula, use an F1 team to sell merchandise. Wonder how much of their yearly budget is covered by merch sales.

That explanation really makes sense with regards to Ferrari hiring Hamilton. Even if Hamilton wasn't washed, he was clearly on the down slope and last stages of his career. It was a real head scratcher to me.
My take on Hamilton was the only F1 prediction I got right this season!

I know o have helped the Red Bull budget with my merchandise purchases
I am now buying Caddy F1 merch
Hamilton is a gold mine for merchandise and social media.

Carlos!
Two podiums for Carlos and none for Lewis. That is freaking hilarious. It took him about half a year to get comfortable and finally is avoided bad breaks but man I'm loving the Williams doing so well.
Thank god they have the 25 lap maximum because man that track is brutal as far as racing goes. So little passing. McLaren being dummies makes the final race of the season a lot more interesting. My first time ever watching where there will be 3 drivers with a chance to win the Championship.
Kind of would like a first time winner but actually pulling for Max because he 100% has been the best driver this year. Crazy what he's been able to do with that car.

Alonso, Seb, Kimi (not as downhill with the Lotus stint), Massa...
Ferrari seems to like the big names after their peak.
I will wait to see next year when ground effect cars are less before writing off some of the drivers who have struggled with this formula.

Same here. I hate the idea of rooting for a guy to win his fifth championship in a row, and it's always great to crown a new champ, but this year Max was definitely the underdog with a car that was far more difficult to extract maximum performance. And people love an underdog. With McLaren (the team) and its two drivers each showing weakness at various races, it's easy to be judgy about them not maximizing their potential. When Max says if he had been driving the McLaren he would have wrapped up the championship long ago, we believe him. Max is the underdog and the best driver, so it's easy to root for him. I'm not even a Max fan. I always root for the (relatively) nice-guy and underdog drivers like the Barrichello- and Bottas-type drivers. Both Lando and Oscar fit the nice-guy mold, but they still need to earn it, and I'm happy to see Max push them to the limit.
What a great last race of this car-rules era! All the teams deserve credit for making this extremely tight field. I guess the parity rules like budget caps and restricted testing and wind tunnel time really works. The big loser here is Ferrari, which hates having an even playing field.
