Wasn't the GP of Macau formerly an F3/Formula Pacific race?
Posted on 11/15/25 at 8:35 pm to FightinTigersDammit
Yes it used to be formula 3. They still run some different formulas at Macau. Formula regional and formula 4 this year along with GTs and motorcycles.

If tweet fails to load, click here. The race will be 57 laps so another mandatory 2 stop race. Hopefully it plays out better than Monaco did this year.

Pirelli confirm that tyres used in the Qatar Grand Prix weekend can cover a maximum of 25 laps, including laps run under the Safety Car or Virtual Safety Car, due to the very demanding track in terms of energy, thermal stress and wear
What a joke.
But note that Michelin very specifically said that they are not interestied in returning to F1 because they don't want to be forced to develop less durable compounds just for "the show." So apparently the technology has advanced to the point where you can have tires of adequate performance with just a one-stopper. I guess the idea is that softer compounds provide diminishing returns, and the tire companies want to show off tires that are both fast and durable.
The solution of course is to re-introduce re-fueling and get rid of the hybrid systems. I hadn't thought of this, but with the hybrid, Google AI says F1 cars use 30% less fuel than before. So getting rid of the hybrids, and using bio-fuels, which have less energy density than fossil fuels, means they are back to having to manage loads of heavy fuel that kills lap times. That means more pit stops will come naturally, and compounds will get softer because every race will be at least two pit stops.
I just need to run for FIA president now, or get appointed to a high position at Liberty Media or something.

And bring back different tire manufacturers.
And V10s.

OK you guys, this race week is a little different. Race day is Saturday, so the weekend is Thursday-Saturday.
That means the prediction lists will be locked Wednesday night (tomorrow).
Here's last year's qualy:

And last year's race result:

Very unusual results last year! Pay attention!

Midnight was just a crazy start time. Didn’t make sense for the US market at all.

Where are you seeing that? I just checked Weather Channel and it shows 65/47 degrees and a 3% chance of rain. Looks like rain on Friday but should be early in the day.

I live in Vegas, it’s legit been raining on and off since Saturday. It’s absurd haha
Forecast shows things slowing down by the weekend and pretty good weather on Saturday. Should be good to go.
We are going to the race in the main grandstands. Pretty excited.

LOL - I need to change my post. I searched Las Vegas on WUnderground and it defaulted to Las Vegas, NM.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Lando with a special helmet also. Think I saw where he wouldn’t be allowed to wear his during the race. Doesn’t look aerodynamic at all.
