George is a little too excited. Literally prancing around lol

He drove a perfect quali and race. I know he's easy to hate, but I think he deserves some credit.

Got up this morning to watch the race and right after the National Anthem, my DVR crapped its pants. The next thing I see is George stepping up on the center of the podium. Oh well.

Going to be very very interesting...

Mercedes starting to show up now, so we will have a dog fight between the top 4 next year, especially if RBR puts a halfway decent #2 in their car.

Sure, I’ll give him credit. He can be really good at times. But I think I saw him skipping

Being a nice guy... Don't know when he was a nice guy, thought Sainz passed him pretty easily early in the race.

I think he was talking about the second pit stop. He didn't defend his position because of team orders = "being nice" and then Sainz ignored the order and went for the overtake.

And Lewis choked in Q3 when he went off the track into the runoff area.

Ferrari got really lucky not getting a penalty for Sainz starting down pit lane then swerving back on the track at the last second.

The explanation was that drivers weren't warned about that maneuver being a penalty before the race by the race director like they had been at other tracks. So it was just treated as a violation of track limits even though that doesn't seem to align with the written rulebook.

It's impossible to take rule application in this sport seriously.

They still use pit boards for those situations, yes? Not that I'd expect him to know how to read one.

Yeah, as I recall he was told Sainz would not pass him when he came out of the pits on cold tires. Sainz proceeded to pass him immediately after he came out of the pits.

Sainz gives zero fricks about team orders at this point and I don't really blame him.

TBD. They flashed for those few races in the middle of the season then went back to being the clear #3/4 car the last several weeks until this weekend. And everyone interviewed basically said they were thrilled with the performance but didn’t know why it happened. They’ll also have a complete f1 unknown as the #2 driver next year.

Are there any notable regulation changes regarding car setup coming for 2025, or nothing until 2026? If there are none, is it reasonable to assume where teams finish this year with car setup and performance should correlate reasonably well to where they start next year?

I wonder if there is contractual language about team orders and being able to levy fines etc

Yes, I agree that the best driver would win if he also had the fastest car.

“Agreement in principle” for General Motors and Cadillac to have a new F1 team from 2026. The entry was set up by Andretti Global (which remains the foundation but has zero mention in any release or comment) but is now positioned as a GM-led project. Instead it's got "TWG Global" as partner.
