Its kind of hard to get the stars to line up where you're in a position to do something nowadays. You have to be in position to do it to begin with, as well as not really be racing for anything at the time in case you take yourself out.
So if it were me I'd definitely say or at least imply that I was going to do something, but who knows if you actually get a decent chance. Its also weird because they are interviewing these guys right after it happens and then they get a week to cool off/think about it before they even MIGHT be able to retaliate. And I know they are rich but it would have to be something pretty awful for me to want to wreck somebody even just a week later and risk losing $50k

50k was steep for that. I wish nascar would let them have at it again. The team owners can police it without fines.

Someone put Lonnie on suicide watch.

From Bob Pockrass:
quote:
Crew chiefs for Hendrick cars:
William Byron: Brian Campe
Alex Bowman: Greg Ives
Kyle Larson: Kevin Meendering
Josh Berry: Tom Gray

Kaulig Racing will appeal the penalty to Justin Haley's team.
"Only one of the two louvers on the No. 31 car was confiscated, showing inconsistencies in the parts provided to teams from NASCAR’s single source supplier, providing no competitive advantage. "
Kaulig will request deferral of crew chief suspension until after the appeal hearing.

If NASCAR ever goes EV, which is probably a long way off, then NASCAR is truly dead.
Don't think they will (at least in the near future) go totally EV, but something is on the horizon.
From a Bob Pockrass Tweet this morning.
This is apparently a letter to someone in the Nashville government as part of the discussion to bring racing back to the Nashville Fairgrounds.

Not worried. He's 29th and He'll continue to drop. But the fact the rest of the Hendricks cars took it on the chin.

That’s awesome to SHR letting him do that. It needs a small 3 on the door.

That’s awesome. Glad they will be using the actual RCR 29 font and all.

He's 26th.
And you're gonna melt when he gets the waiver(and he will get it)

I actually caught Race Hub on FS1 today when Harvick unveiled the car. He said they came up with the idea end of last year, and he called RC himself for permission. Pretty cool.

No because everyone and their brother knows he's going to get it.

Just got my Turn 12 Grandstand tickets for COTA.

Of course he will.
I don’t like it but the precedent is there. KB missed half the season and got a waiver.
Didn’t they even take away the rule that you have to be top ___ in points?
Posted on 3/17/23 at 12:08 pm to Tigertown in ATL
From what I remember was that Kyle had to win a race in last 15, when he returned, and be top 30 in points. I think he missed something like 12 or 13 races

Hamlin has decided to appeal
quote:
After much consideration I’ve decided that I will appeal the decision by NASCAR to penalize me. What happened on Sunday was common hard racing that happens each and every weekend. There was also no manipulation of the race nor actions detrimental to the sport.
